Snowdrop

Snowdrop is a bulbous plant


genus of the family Amaryllidaceae
.These plants bloom early spring .

   The Snowdrop flower that heralds


spring, is a native of Europe and Asia .
Its scientific name is Galanthus means
"Flower white as milk."

   The lovely plants have two or three long, thin leaves , green and
white flowers that appear from the bulb. They emits an aroma of freshness.
When snow is replaced by snowdrop we feel the resurrection joy of nature.

Snowdrops grow many times before snowmelt and resists very well at
low temperatures, so inexplicable even to scientists. Interesting to note is the
fact that wild animals avoid the snowdrop in their food.

Bells of spring can be planted in your garden or pot . The bulbs


should be planted four inches deep , in late summer the ground must be
fertilized. Avoid shady places, and when you want to move wait until the
flowers fade, then you can remove it from the earth. However, there are
more than 100 species and varieties, each differing in texture and color ,
different combination of green and white .
