Q1. What kinds of applications are described here?........and decision making?

Ans. The applications described are mainly the kind of applications that have innovatively
changed the basic methods of a workplace. From hospitals to logistics to tech machinery
companies, all in the favour of introducing MIS to their organisations. Some of the applications
mentioned are MEDITECH (developed by Doylestown hospital) which helps the hospital staff to
access a patients file and previous records, ChainLinq (developed by D.W Morgan) which
updates the shipment status to the company’s customers and FlavorLab ( developed by TCHO)
which helps them manage the chocolate making machine just through their Iphones. MIS has
made life easier for these companies including many other that have adapted to this innovation
just because it has made life and business easier for them in many ways. Just with a swipe on the
screen a company can access their records or manage their everyday tasks or operations and most
importantly it can give statistics and stores data in order to improve and maintain better decision
making.

Ans. In MEDITECH’s case they programmed the application so that doctors all over the world
can access to their database in order to access a patients reports and stay updated. Moreover
MEDITECH offered the staff to stay on call wherever they are. ChainLinq was specifically
programmed for the companies that offered JIT orders. The clients needed raw materials shortly
after they ordered them, in order to create a better communication between the delivery drivers
and the receiving ends they created this application, which saved time, kept the customers
satisfied and loyal to the company. FlavorLab helped maintain a chocolate making machine. It
managed its temperature and time and the alerts helped the manufacturers keep a check and
balance on the machine to avoid mishaps.

Q3. What kinds of businesses……… ipads and blackberrys?

Ans. In this digital era all kinds or organisations are in benefit of this initiative. Industries like
delivery services, cab services, banks, software houses etc are some of the example. In Pakistan,
cab services like Careem or Uber have different applications for their drivers that provide a
better customer employee interaction and save time.
