Non-verbal clues “Lie To Me” – episodes 1-3 (I couldn`t refrain from watching just one)

- Putting the hand to the forehead – is a sign of shame

- Insisting in making eye contact with the interviewer when you have to answer
with a lie to his/her question

- Putting the finger under the nose as a man – mistrust & lie

- Tight, lingered lips, superior lip pronounced – disgust

- Repetition and tone of voice higher – lie

- Spontaneous autocorrection of facts reported while still reporting – a sign of


telling the truth

- Eyes down, forehead not involved, no sign of emotion around eyes skin - the
feeling of grief expressed through words is dissimulated and doesn`t show on
face

- Asymmetrical emotion displayed – emotion is dissimulated

- Comforting one`s own hand is a gesture of reassurance – when you don`t


believe in what you`re saying
