Stand Out in Your Industry The 3M Certified Graphics Installation Company (the “Designation”) and its
Emblems are valuable tools for promoting that 3M recognizes your member
ship in UASG (United Applications Standards Group) as a company that can
provide quality graphic installation services.
This guide explains how to use the Designation and Emblems to promote your
services and your commitment to excellence through verbal, print and multi
media options. Please take time to familiarize yourself with this guide before
using your new tools.
Consistent use of the Designation and Emblems builds a strong identity that
your customers will quickly identify with quality and reliability. With your help,
3M will audit and control the use of these tools, which will help strengthen
and maintain its integrity in the marketplace.
Terms of Usage UASG. The Designation and its Emblems may be used as specified in this
guideline for the duration of the agreement between 3M and UASG. Upon
dissolution of the contract, UASG agrees to immediately remove any refer
ences to the 3M relationship from all electronic and printed media as specified
in the agreement for this program
UASG Member Companies. The Designation and its Emblems may be used
as specified in this guideline as long as the member company is in good
standing with UASG.
When the Designation and Emblems are used as described in this guideline,
UASG and its members are not required to get 3M approval for every instance
of use. Any variation to these guidelines must be approved by 3M.
Converting to the New UASG and its member companies in good standing must update all electronic
media to the new 3M Certified Graphics Installation Company designation and
Designation and Emblems Emblems by February 25, 2010. Members must convert all printed media to
the new Designation and Emblems by March 25, 2010. Existing durable
goods with the old designation, such as clothing and caps, may be used in
definitely by the original owner, but should be disposed of when no longer in
use.

How to Use the Emblems The Emblems are visual tools that are easily recognizable by the graphics
industry and your customers as a symbol of your skills and abilities. They are
ideal for use on the following: web pages; business stationery, cards and
vehicles; catalogs; advertising; clothing.
Both versions of the Emblem are available in EPS and JPG format. It can be
sized dynamically to meet the needs of the application, but must always be
easily readable. Always maintain a blank margin around the entire Emblem,
equal to one half its width.
Do not change colors, add shadows borders or reflections, omit or shorten
words, use a trademark symbols, or use within body text.
Print the Emblem in full color or gray tones.

The 3M Company Logo The 3M company logo, also referred to as the 3M red (or black) logo, or any
emblem that includes the 3M logo, should not be used in conjunction with the
installer program or in any of your communications.

LONGER VALID.
Maintaining Your Identity To maintain your company’s identity, the nature of the relationship must be
clear – 3M provides only a component to the services or products you offer.
Display your brand mark two to three times larger than a 3M emblem when
used in close proximity to each other. The Emblem can appear above, below,
left or right of your company identity, or used alone.

Using the Designation in You may use the term 3M Certified Graphics Installation Company in any of
your body copy. It should be used in the same type face as the body copy but
Your Communications may be set apart with bold or italic type.
What Not to Do Do not refer to yourself or your company as a producer or installer of
Scotchprint® Graphics unless you are also a current Scotchprint® Graphics
Authorized Manufacturer—a designation available only from 3M.
Do not refer to yourself as a “preferred vendor for installing 3M graphics” or
use the word “preferred” in connection with your status as a 3M Certified
Graphics Installation Company; by agreement, that word is reserved for other
use by 3M in regards to other individual graphics installer programs.
Do not make any claim or relationship about being a 3M Certified Graphics
Installation Company that suggests any 3M warranty will be affected by using
your services.
Key Messages These key messages are a starting point for use in your communications.
Remember that setting the right tone when describing your affiliation with 3M
and the significance of your UASG membership is essential to maintaining the
strength, respect and personality of this designation, as well as its value to
your business.

commitment to providing you with the best graphics installation available.
• Why trust your brand identity to just any graphics installer when you can
trust that a 3M Certified Graphics Installation Company has been profes
sionally trained and certified to do it right.
• As a graphics installer, we are proud to be a 3M Certified Graphics Install
ation Company, a designation that shows our ongoing commitment to
being best in class.
Crediting the 3M Brand When using only the Designation or an Emblem, do not include a trademark
attribute to 3M in your communications.
If referencing specific 3M products in your communications, please include an
attribute that lists the 3M brands you mentioned, such as: 3M, Controltac and
Comply are trademarks of 3M Company.
