Growth performance

 During the 42 days of the experiment the low-Se group or known to be the corn-
soybean basal diet that doesn’t contain any Se supplement has a higher
improvement in terms of growth performance than with the 0.3 and 0.7 mg/kg
DL-SeMet supplementation groups

Antioxidant Status

 In terms of antioxidant status the 0.3 mg/kg DL-SeMet supplementation is

shown to be higher than the low-Se and 0.3 mg/kg sodium selenite groups
because the first group shows that GSH-Px content appears to be high than
other groups. In liver oxidation resistance, the group that has the highest
performance is the 0.1 mg/kg DL-SeMet because it has the highest T-AOC and
also both DL-SeMet and sodium selenite’s MDA concentration decreased.

Plasma Se Concentration

 It shows that the higher intake of DL-SeMet supplement will increase the plasma
Se concentration than the other groups.

Immune function

 According to the table shown there are no significant changes in the IgA, IgM,
and IgG levels due to the fact that there is a presence of vitamin E which can
affect the immune response of the weaning pigs.
