1) Impulse buying is something that is innate to humans as a way to relieve stress, and is often triggered when seeing something attractive that others don't have, making one feel superior.
2) From early primate societies to modern times, humans have an instinct to seek social status and follow leaders, which can sometimes manifest in impulse purchases aimed at appearing superior to others.
3) While impulse buys may seem impulsive, they are often not and instead represent underlying desires for social power and status that some will use excuses to fulfill.

Impulse buying or impulse purchase is something that everybody did. It is in
the human DNA to distress when demanded and the best way to do that is to go out. When we are out and we see something attractive, something that most of our friends do not have, we lead to buy it because it makes us feel above others. We feel like a voice in our heads tells us what to do. That voice is our instinct, the instinct we all have from our ancestors. From the beginning of time, primates lived in societies that had superiors and followers. This kind of structure is called a monarchy. Even that it sounds bad, it is not because it has its advantages toward democracy. In a monarchy, there is much more order and the decision are taken faster but the monarch can abuse its powers. In a democracy, the decisions which involve population are decided by population and everybody can vote what is best for them. Plus, if everyone has to vote it requires time which, in an emergency, doesn't exist. In present-day, we realized that people are corrupt, and we can not give all the power to one, so democracy is a better choice. Also, some people desire power so badly (mostly social) that in their subconscious developed an instinct that guides them to buy everything they believe it is interesting and would make others feel inferior. I believe in pure democracy because important decisions affect everyone and this social power seek is pointless. This impulse buys in not impulsive, people just seek for reasons to do whatever they want. Because they need excuses means that they need a social mask to cover who they are. "Impulse buy" is the pretext for the immature people and not everybody needs it.
