Unit 6: Changing lives

Technology is always linked to culture not only as a generator of survival and

production methods also using technology, we can create languages, music, art
etc. and technology accelerates the transfer of information and knowledge and
today we have mass media, computers, cellphones, social networks etc., that
join the world and this union makes that we know other traditions and other
cultures and sometimes we adopt it, so this causes many of the local traditions
to be lost or contaminated by behaviors from other cultures around the world.

So I think every day technology demands more of our time and our priorities,
distorting the relationships of our world, I appreciate many things than tanks to
technology we have like internet, quickly access to the information, better
opportunities of entertainment, better health services and many other things, but
I am worried for the negative side of technology for example we are losing
privacy and also we are losing communication abilities.

In each generation traditions are different and in each one technology has
present in different ways older people maybe don’t use the same devices that
we are, and the same will happen with us and many traditions will disappear.

So, we need to consider the impact of technology on people's lives in order to

provide a better education for it and promote people to make good use of these
tools. We must create awareness that the use of technology must be for the
good of humanity and in the preservation of our culture and our values, no
matter what country it is. We must use technology to our advantage and
preserve our traditions because are part of our identity.
