a Assessment of transportation Facilities


In assessing the transportation facilities of the
Municipality of Kawit. We first, identify the road inventory of
the Municipality
Tirona Highway-Highway 25 and Cavite Toll Expressway
(CAVITEX)-Centennial Road are the two major roads of the
Municipality of Kawit that interlink the industrial road of
Cavite and Metro Manila.
The Tirona Highway and Highway 25 are two bordering roads
which serves as coastal part and historic focus of Kawit where
the previous town hall was established. It also interlink the
City of Noveleta and City of Bacoor. Establishments such as Water
Camp Resort, Sasahama Restaurant, Cherry’s Pavilion, Malvar
Supermarket, Emilus Supermarket, Massway Supermarket, and other
fast food restaurant like Mang Inasal, and Jollibee,etc resides
in this roads.
The Covelandia and CEPZA Roads are additional boarding roads
constructed to be used as the primary lane to the Industrual
Zones of Cavite and the Port Area of Manila. The 30 m wide
expressway bypass the farmland of the town and the coastline
Binakayan which heightens various business foundations and resort
in the zone to be specific; Sula Gas, Petron Gasoline Station,
Orange County, Phoenix Gasoline Station, Jetti Gasoline Station,
Kartini Hotel, 711 Store, RCPJC Hardware, Cedz Restaurant, Tirona
Hardware, Tiles Center, Island Cove, Miquels Bar and Restaurant,
Esther Robina Restaurant and so on. And furthermore the recently
settled Municipal Annex Building (New Town Hall) uses this road
which will be the structure to be the new center of Kawit.
To further ease the traffic problem of the Province of
Cavite, a 7km Tollway named Cavite Toll Expressway also known as
CAVITEX was constructed which extends the existing 6.45 Kms.
Coastal Road from Zapote in Las Piñas City to Tirona Highway in
Kawit, Cavite which obviously shorten the travel time from Manila
to Cavite.
Information accumulated from the Engineering Office uncovers
that there is an aggregate of about 35.259 kilometers of streets
in the whole district of which 13.700 km. are national street,
2.296 km commonplace street, 0.809 km are civil street and 18.454

Since there are no airports, seaports, cargo ports, and


major land transportation terminal in Kawit. Buses, jeepneys and
tricycles are the main public utility vehicles in the
municipality which mobility are mainly supported by the following
existing transport facilities mentioned above.

I.b Background
1. Historical Background
Some time before the coming of the Spaniards, Kawit was

2. Historical Significance
