Conditional

-Zero Conditional : We use it to say someting that is always true ,


something that will happen or a fact.
We use If + present simple
Example : The grass gets wet when it rains.

-First Conditional : It refers to something that is likely or might to


happen in the future.
We use If + present simple , followed by the future simple : will/won’t
+ infinitive
-Example : He'll miss the bus if he doesn't leave soon.

-Second Conditional : We use it to something possible in the future


but that’s not likely to happen , or an impossible or imaginary
situation in the present .
We use If + past simple , followed by would/wouldn’t + infinitive.
-Example : She would pass the exam if she ever studied.

-Third Conditional : It is used to talk about impossible conditions that


happened in the past.
We use If + had/hadn’t + past participle , followed by would/wouldn’t
+ have + past participle.
-Example : I would have taken a photo if I had brought my camera
with me.
-Mixed Conditional 1 : It refers to something tha happened in the
past but that still has a probable impact on the present.
We use If + had/hadn’t + past participle followed by would/wouldn’t
+ infinitive .
-Example : If we had looked at the map we wouldn't be lost.

-Mixed Conditional 2 : It refers to something unreal , that didn’t


happen in the past due to a present situation.
We use If + past simple followed by would/wouldn’t + have + past
participle .
-Example : If I had taken a banadol , I wouldn't have a headache now.
