CASE STUDY OF MR.P.B.

RAO

Introduction
This case study is about Mr.P.B
.Rao who started his career in early 70’s in a consumer goods company as a
Management trainee and rose to the position of General Manager after
servicing for more than 30 years. He has gone through so many obstacles in
his career to make himself firm in the company. During the course of time
Mr.P.B.Rao’s son also got an opportunity to work in the same company as
his father with a bond of 3 years. His son got an opportunity from a US
computer firm which he desired to accept but for which Mr.P.B.Rao is
disturbed as his son did not serve the bond.

Concept related to the case given


Some of the basic concepts from this case study that is related to the subject
of Ethics are,
1)Responsibility shown by Rao towards his company,
2)His dedication to his work,
3)Commitment of divine Knowledge as he pursues a course to develop
himself,
4)His sacrificing tendency to his company though he has not progressed in
his career spectacularly.
All these concepts have been explained as the important characters to be
followed by a Manager from various epics.
Alternatives
The various alternatives for the problem are,
1)As, Rao was working for many years and still he was not able to succeed in
his career he can quit his job if his son accepts the offer from US so that there
wouldn’t be financial crisis in his fam
2)Mr.Rao’s son instead of accepting the US offer by denying the bond for the
company he can work in the same concern for a period till the bond exists by
considering the loyalty of his father towards the company.
3)Mr.Rao’s son can also analyze the financial benefits from both the
company and US offer and then based on it he can choose the job.

Best Alternative
According to me the best alternative for this case is Mr.Rao’s son can choose
the company in which he have to purse the job by analyzing the financial
aspect of the job and benefits that he could gain from it.

Conclusion
Thus, by selecting this alternative there couldn’t be the situation of Mr.Rao
will be happy without any danger of losing his dignity and job. Thus, based
on the ethical values he followed he can be better in his
