Crime is one of society’s most concerning problems in our world.

Not only does it

put the health of citizens at risk, but it also causes anxiety and stress in our everyday lives.
Reoffending rate should therefore be cut in the most efficient way possible.

A better probation service would certainly give ex-prisoners the opportunity to lead a normal life
and avoid crime in the future. Imprisonment is an incredibly difficult time for any individual and
could cause major psychological disorders. For this reason, ex-prisoners must know that there is
somebody there for them should they need help. Besides, better probation service would be
useful when finding a job, which is another issue for ex-convicts.

Had a person had better vocational training in prison, they would face less difficulties finding
employment, which may discourage them from committing a crime again. What is more,
prisoners would concentrate on their training and consequently have to deal with less mental
issues. After leaving prison, they would be able to be useful to society and integrate much faster
and more effortlessly.

To sum up, both strategies would be advantageous, especially if implemented consecutively.

However, I think a better probation service is the primary task due to the fact that ex-prisoners
cannot be employed unless their mental state has improved, which is precisely what probation
service should opt for. It may be the best solution to this modern problem.
