1.0 SCOPE:
“This specification defines the requirements for the application of a Mn or Ni/Mn phosphate conversion coating with
or witnout @ supplementary oil treatment on to non-stainless ferrous materials having a hardness less than 35
HRC.
2.0 GENERAL
“The purpose of the phosphate coating processes described in this specification is to provide atmospheric
corrosion protection te carbon, low alloy and medium alloy stee's. It is not suitable for immersion service unless
suitably top coated. Dash 02 should be specified whenever phosphated parts are going to receive a protective
‘coating. Dash 01 should be specified when parts will not be top coated or will be painted with an alkyd paint for
cosmetic purposes.
This specification describes specific phosphating processes and references specific brand names of chemicals.
‘Substitutions will only be allowed after completing a successful qualification program and when specifically
approved by Cameron Metallurgy.
