5N ARMENIA/3N GEORGIA

The monasteries, churches and cathedrals of Georgia and Armenia are amongst the oldest in the
world. Many are built in stunning locations, surrounded by gardens and forests, perched on top of
dramatic gorges or silhouetted before snowcapped mountains. The range of scenery is immense,
from Mount Ararat towering majestically over the skyline of Yerevan, to the lush valleys of ancient
vineyards across the lowlands of Georgia. Here, wine has been produced for almost 10,000 years
and there is the opportunity to visit one of its most famous wine cellars.

DAY 01: FLIGHT TO YEREVAN

Depart from your country and start a nice journey to Caucasus Region. Arrive in
Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Our representative will meet you at the airport
and transfer to hotel, check – in. Free time to relax.
Overnight in Yerevan.
DAY 02: YEREVAN CITY TOUR 10am-4pm

The tour begins with a visit to  Mother Armenia,


a statue which was constructed to replace a
monumental statue of Joseph Stalin. Visit
Genocide complex. Thereafter, you will head to
the Cascade, a giant stairway in the capital city
which links downtown Kentron area of Yerevan
with the Monument neighbourhood. The stairs
afford walkers unobstructed views of central
Yerevan and Mount Ararat. From the Cascade,
you will be heading to the Opera House. A visit
to the Republic Square awaits you next. The
Square is famous for the dancing water
fountains located at the north-eastern end along
the National Gallery. The buildings around the Square are made of rose and white Armenian tufa
stones and provide a great insight into the architectural heritage of Armenia. to Yerevan.
If you are looking for some shopping during your holiday to Armenia, Vernissage (open only on
week-ends) is the place to be. Hundreds of vendors selling a variety of crafts, souvenirs,
woodcarving items, antiques, and wool carpets will leave you spoilt for choice.

DAY 03: YEREVAN-GARNI-GEGHARD – YEREVAN 10am-3pm

Explore Armenia’s UNESCO World Heritage–


listed treasures on this Garni-Geghard day
tour. Visit the iconic Temple of Garni — widely
considered the country’s most important
symbol of pre-Christian Armenia and admire
the classical Hellenistic architecture you find.
Enjoy breathtaking views over Mt Ararat on
route to the UNESCO–listed monastery
complex of Geghard. Within our tour we will
be in the valley of Azat river where there are
mayn historical and natural monuments. We
will go to the Pagan Temple of Garni. The
Pagan Temple of Garni is the only non-
Christian temple currently standing in ArmeniaThe architectural complex of Garni was Armenia's
foremost center of Hellenistic culture and the summer residence of Armenian kings. Drive to the
unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13th cc.), the name of which means “holy spear” in the
honor of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ. At the
moment this spear is kept in the museum of Etchmiadzin.  Geghard Monastery is included in the
UNESCO World Heritage list (2000). Drive back to Yerevan.

DAY 04: YEREVAN - LAKE-SEVAN-TSAGHKADZOR 10am-3pm

Lake Sevan is considered  to be one of the


largest sweet water lakes in the world,
situated at an altitude of 1,897 meters above
sea level. Climb on peninsula from where the
fascinating view on the Lake is open. Visit
Sevanavank monastery, built by the princess
Mariam to honor the life of her deceased
husband in the 9th century. Tsaghkadzor city
(Valley of flowers) isconsidered to be one of
the most popular winter resorts of Armenia. It
is one of the places of the mountainous
country, where the beauty of the nature
appears with its whole variety. Opportunity to
go up to the mountain peaks by rope way, where you will catch an unforgettable gorgeous
panoramic view of this part of the world . Moving on, pay a visit to the Kecharis monastery .
Dating back to the 11th century, the monastery includes four churches and ruins of
the mausoleum of Grigorius Pahlavuni.

DAY 05: FREE DAY IN TSAGHKADZOR SKI RESORT

Enjoy Tsaghkadzor at your own. The ski area is


located between 1966 and altitude 2819 m and
includes 15 tracks of various degrees of
complexity. Their total length is 30 km, the
longest stretches almost 8 km .In the middle part
of the slope is the blue track, green is for
beginners. Serpentine with steep and sharp turns
on the lower section to the North of the lifts —
only for experienced skiers. Pride of Tsakhkadzor
is a modern cable car LEITNER, including three
consecutive lifts with a total length of 4200 m. to
climb from the lower level to the top takes only
40 minutes. Besides the tramway, the ski area has
two ski lifts and a few ski lifts.

DAY 06: TSAGHKADZOR-DILIJAN-BORDER – TBILISI 10AM-4PM

Dilijan.  Dilijan is one of the most important resorts of
Armenia, famous for its amazing surroundings,
situated in Dilijan National Park. This small city, lost in
forests and mountains with alpine meadows around, is
home to numerous Armenian artists, composers, and
filmmakers. Visit to Haghartsin Monastery (X- XIV
centuries). Nestled in forested mountains the
Monastery creates a magical impression of the lost
world. Then you will be transferred to Armenian-
Georgian border for departing Georgia.

DAY 07: TBILISI CITY TOUR-MTSKHETA-TBILISI 10am-4pm

Walking tour in famous Sulfuric Baths district,


(Abanotubani) and Legvtakhevi Waterfall,
visit Metekhi church (12th Century) and
Narikala fortress, (4th Century) panoramic
view of the city from the hill where located
monument mother of Georgia. ( Kartlis deda)
Visit national museum of Georgia and main
avenue, Rustaveli. We drive to visit the
ancient capital and religious centre of
Georgia Mtskheta (3000 years old) and see its
historical places: Jvari church (6th century)
and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and
Svetitskhoveli are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

DAY 08: TBILISI-KAKHETI-SIGNAGI-BODBE-TBILISI 10am-4pm

Drive to eastern part of Georgia Kakheti region,


known almost exclusively for its vineyards and
wineries. Visit Signagi, ancient city, also known as
the “City of Love”, with stone-paved streets and
the balconies in old - Georgian style. Visit Bodbe
Monastery originally built in the 9th century,
which now functions as a nunnery and is one of
the the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia. Drive
back to Tbilisi.

DAY 09: DEPARTURE
