- Yes, simple words in federalism, federalism is a political philosophy in which a group of

people are bound together, with a governing head. In federation, the authority is divided between
the head and the political units governed by it. So our federalist form of government has several
advantages, such as protecting us from tyranny, dispersing power, increasing citizen
participation, and increasing effectiveness, and disadvantages, such as supposedly protecting
slavery and segregation, increasing inequalities between States, states blocking national.
Federalism is a very good thing. It ensures the balance of power between different units of a
group /government thus, the only real problem with federalism is human influence.
