Universal Design for Learning (UDL) It is known that videos and audio enhance learning in the classroom
due to engaging visuals and audio that children have grown up watching and listening to. Songs are key to
young kids remembering and learning simple but important concepts. The 7 continents song embedded in
the video is so fun and catchy it makes kids want to remember all the words. If a child is blind, they can still
listen to the video and catch on to the song. If a child is def, captions with the words are provided so that
all students can participate. I also included some photos of other countries within these continents and the
students may feel more culturally responsive classroom.
Importance of technology: The web will also be used, if they do not have internet this could be a problem.
They could download the video at school onto their device and play it later. The song would be lost but the
photos can map could be printed out and add some text to still complete a lesson idea.
Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Children should always be supervised when using the computer or the
internet. Although it is a kids youtube video youtube has some nasty things on it. And although the video
would be posted on my site, there is still a chance of the child clicking to another window. No other safety

concerns with this video.
Reflective Practice: I think this lesson idea is crucial to helping kids remember the seven continents. It also
touches on where we live so the kids get a better understanding of our location in the world. Songs are a
key tool to young childrens education and I think this Is one all kids should learn, its fun, simple, and kid
friendly.
