Analyzing Data

 How well is the class doing as a whole group? Provide two statements.

As a whole group, the class is scoring on the lower end. Exactly half of the students
passed the test and half did not pass with a 70% or higher. The class average is 67%.
More students received 50’s than any other percentage.

If at least half of my class did not pass the test, assuming that my test questions were
not the issue, I would plan to re-evaluate the way I taught the content and take time
to go over it again with the students in a new way. I will keep the results of each
individual student in mind to decide who needs extra support and on which topics.

 Which individuals are doing well and in what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

Juan exceeded in every topic, scoring perfectly on each question.

Cody was the other student to receive a 90 or higher. He had a perfect score on
subtraction problems and an average of 80 on addition problems.
Jamal scored an 80 on the test. He had the same subtraction and addition scores as
Cody, so this tells me that he must’ve had more difficulty with division.

 Who may need extra support and on what topics? Describe at least 3 students.

Luke needs extra support in each topic. He scored consistently low for each topic at
an average of 40%.
Nathan did slightly better with addition, however missed the majority of
subtraction problems. He received a 47% and will also need support with all topics,
with more focus on subtraction
Patrick actually did very will with the addition problems, answering 80% of them
correctly. But he did not answer over half of the subtraction problems correctly.
Based on his grade of 53%, the division problems gave him difficulty as well. For
Patrick, the extra support should mainly focus on subtraction and division.
