Activity For this activity, students will use the dictionary and the website

FlipToMind.com to learn and study vocabulary words from their

class reading.
To prepare for this activity I would:
-Show the students how to use dictionaries to look up
definitions of some sample words.
-Provide them with a list of the week’s vocabulary words or
words from recent reading.
-Have them search for the definitions and record them on their
own.
-They would use FlipToMind.com to create a set of flashcards.
I used some sample vocabulary words from
https://www.flocabulary.com/3rd-grade-vocabulary-word-list/
and created a set of flashcards. Students can type the word in
one box and the definition in the other. They can choose to click
on “knew it” or “failed” depending on whether they felt
confident with their knowledge of the definition after clicking on
“show answer.” If they did not know the answer, then this
definition gets shuffled back into the set and reviewed again at
the end. Students can use this tool to quiz themselves on the
definitions of the vocabulary words to gain a full understanding
of their vocabulary.
