Civil War AR Expedition

Engage
Have students prepared with the “Expedition” app for the following
lesson. (This can be provided through Android or Apple devices.)
This is best in a lesson following the entry of the Civil War, but this
video can be an introduction to the work ahead:

Explore
Have students search for the tour called “The Civil War.” Let them
explore the information given here about various parts of the war.

Explain
Have the students work in groups to explain some different things
they saw or read. If students are alone, students can do a small write
up (physically or virtually) of their discoveries.

Apply
Have students apply what they learned by researching more trivia
about the various topics, or they could research a new topic and
create trivia for that.

Share
Students share their discoveries and applications with others
through an online discussion open to all (forum discussion or
similar).

Reflect
Students can reflect either through the online discussion or through
a written paper. What were their discoveries? Strengths and
weaknesses of their project? etc.

Extend
Explore more activities and tours created for other historical events
and wars on Expedition.
