TALLER DE LECTURA 1
TITULO DEL TALLER: Introduction to the Reading Project

OBJETIVOS DEL TALLER

Students will be able to

 Read the story “Catherin, Duchess of Cambridge” silently
 Identify the main idea in the text.
 Share ideas and participate in classroom discussion.

PARTICIPANTES

23 students of 10 “A”
FACILITATORS: Paola Borja, Jhessica Jumbo, Ma. Soledad Román.

ACTIVIDADES

 Activity 1 Presentation of teachers and students.

 Activity 2: Teacher is going to write of a student’s shirt, pants, backpack,
shoes, and teacher asks the class to guess who is wearing the color. Whoever
gets the correct answer can write the next color on the board and students
guess again.
 Activity 3: teacher is going to talk about the project “leer para crear”.
 Activity 4: Present a short reading passage about “Catherine, Duchess of
Cambridge”. This is presented on the board by using a poster with the story
and also every student will have the reading in a piece of paper.
 Activity 5: All the students read the passage in 10 minutes. They have to
underline the different unknown words and teachers explain the meaning of
them.
 Activity 6: Student will have a worksheet where they have to complete with a
check some true or false items. Then, teachers and students review this
activity once they have finished it.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine Elizabeth

"Kate"; née Middleton; born 9 January 1982) is the wife
of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and a member
of the British Royal Family. The Duke of Cambridge is
second in line to the thrones of the 16 Commonwealth
realms and, should he eventually become king, she
would automatically become his queen consort.

Catherine grew up in Chapel Row at Bucklebury, a

village near Newbury, Berkshire, England. She studied
in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she
met the then Prince William of Wales in 2001. Their
engagement was announced on 16 November 2010, and
Middleton attended many high-profile royal events
before they married on 29 April 2011 at Westminster
