B. Review

Guide question:  The pupils will answer

1. What was your topic last meeting class?
2. Did you learn something from the
lesson?

C. Elicit

The teachers will group the class into  The pupils will do the task
2 small groups. The teachers will give an
activity entitled “Picking me then Paste me”.
Mechanics in using the Mystery Box
1. Each group members will pick a paper
with a printed picture in the mystery box.
2. The each group will perform.
3. The teacher will paste the data
organizer in the board with the
corresponding legends and she will
instruct the pupils to open the paper that
they have been picked in the box.
4. Upon opening the paper each member
of the group will come in front to paste
their picture in the data organizer that
corresponds to the legends.
5. After the task of posting the pictures in
the data organizer, the group will
present their answer in the class.

D. Engage

Based on the data given we have a short

story.
 The pupils will listen to the
Mang Donie harvested 3 baskets of teacher
mangoes on the first week of March, on the
second week he harvested 4 baskets of
avocados and on the third up to the last
week of the month he harvested 4 baskets
of rambutans.

Key questions:
 The pupils will answer the
1. What does the pictograph present?
following questions.
2. How many baskets of mangoes?
3. How many baskets of avocados?
4. How many baskets of rambutans?

Before we are going to know how many baskets of

fruits that we have let’s first discuss again what is
pictograph all about?

E. Explain

Graph – can be defined as a pictorial  The pupils will listen to the

representation or a diagram that teacher
represents data or values in an
organize manner.
Pictograph – is a kind of graph used to
present data or information
using pictures that represents
numbers.

Parts of Pictograph
1. Title – tells what graph is all about. It is
written at the center above the
graph.
2. Legend – shows how much each picture
represents and is found
below the
graph.
3. Pictures – corresponds to the actual
value being represented.

Going back to the data organizer, if one basket

represents 5 pieces of fruits:
1. How many pieces of mangoes in all?
 We have 3 baskets of mangoes,
then we need to multiply it by 5 to
get the total number of mangoes.
5 – total number pieces of fruits in one
basket
×3 – total number of basket

Key question:
1. What do you observe from the video?
2. Why is it important to learn those
things?

G. Generalization

Pictograph is a graph that shows numerical

information using pictures, symbols. It uses
a legend which tells how many each picture
symbols stand for?

H. Value Integration

Honesty is develop during the activity as

well as being observant and cooperative in
organizing data.
I. Evaluation

Observe the pictograph below. Then, read and  The pupils will answer the
analyze the questions that follow. Write the activity
answer on the line.
