Personal Code of Ethics

1. Commitment to the student.

 Shall not deny curiosity of the student.

 Shall create the opportunity for free thought and improvisation.

 Shall not create rifts between members by participating in gossip.

 Shall take claims by students seriously.

 Shall never make unwarranted judgements about students.

 Shall never make a student feel unwelcome or unsafe.

 Shall exemplify good citizenship.

 Shall foster a safe learning environment.

 Shall provide the tools necessary for students to follow their dreams.

2. Commitment to the profession.

 Shall always represent facts and disclose when statements are opinions.

 Shall not teach in a way that conflicts with a colleague.

 Shall not discredit colleagues in front of students.

 Shall do my part in the progression of the profession.
