Academic Artifact
Future career interests (if known):
Occupational Therapist

Targeted soft skills you chose for this year:

1. Study skills

2.comfort with technology

Description of artifact/assignment:

The academic artifact I choose is my Unit 1 exam in chemistry. It was the second test of the year
and it was a test about what we had learned in the previous packet. We had a whole class period
to finish the test and we were allowed a cheat sheet if we got all credit stamps on our packet.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

I choose this artifact because I wasn’t confident about taking that test, but it was my highest
scored test in Chemistry. Also last year I wasn’t good at science and I failed almost every test so
I was proud I did a lot better than ever before.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?

I studied for the test and I also paid attention in class and made sure I know what I was doing in
class. I would study either in the 5th period or at home a week before the test.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?

I would complete my work early in class so I could get extra credit and ask my teacher for help
when I needed it. Also doing it in class allowed me to work with others when I would get stuck
or just to even understand the topic.

Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the
course of working on this Artifact/Assignment? Explain.
Yes, I did because I was able to keep an A the whole semester and I also don’t have to take the
finale this semester.

Provide an example of how these academic and/or soft skills are used in a career in which you
are interested
This academic may be useful when I try to go to college for the medical field because I will
study science. Stuy skills will help me to remembering and knowing what is important to know
in the medical field.
