VERBS : PAST TIME ( PAST TENSE)


To make a verb show past time, we add –ed.

Now Past
Today I play. Yesterday I played.
Today I work. Last week I worked.

A. Add –ed to each of these verbs.

Adding –d to verbs
If the verb ends with e
we just add –d

Adding –ed to verbs ending with y


we change the y to i.

Change the y to i
Add on -ed

I tidy my bedroom I tidied my bedroom

With these words the y is changed to i and –d only is added.
