Shared West African folklore refers to the folktales found across the region of West Africa.

Some of
these folktales traveled across the Atlantic during the period of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade to become
part of Caribbean, Cuban or Brazilian mythology, with some endemic changes. Some West African
folktales are the following:

- The creation of the world (A Yoruba myth): The myth of how the world was created according to
