Keep the left chords light and ppp to ensure they don't overpower the right-hand melody. Notes for the teacher ~ Students need to work closely on the shaping of the two-note slurs in bar 13. Use a rolling wrist motion, to help keep the phrases fluid. In bar 20, the melody moves momentarily to the left hand as shown by the dotted lines. Students should practise bringing out the top note of the left-hand chord by giving the thumb extra weight.
