Teachers make professional judgements on learners’ performance in every

teaching and learning session undertaken. Using these professional judgements and
translating them into feedback on the quality of individuals’ work is the focus of
Assessment for Learning. Assessment for Learning focuses on the opportunities to
develop students' ability to evaluate themselves, to make judgements about their own
performance and improve upon it and so Assessment for Learning is all about informing
learners of their progress to empower them to take the necessary action to improve
their performance. As a future educator, it is very important that we are able to give the
right assessments to our students based on their needs that is because assessments is
a critical step in the learning process. Assessments cannot just help the students alone
but also the teachers since this allows teachers to see if their teaching has been
effective. Assessment also allows teachers to ensure students learn what they need to
know in order to meet the course's learning objectives.
