Q.1 Explain the Supply Chain Management strategies used by Fashos.com to deliver the
products to the customer.

A.1 ​“​Fashos.com is a multi-brand online shoe store that deals with all categories of footwear
such as mens, childrens, womens, etc. Also, multiple brands such as Hush Puppies, Lancers,
Sparx, etc. Fashos has a great model to maintain its Supply Chain. Fashos uses an ​integrated
network of e-procurement where it has direct contracts for products with various organizations.
As part of its strategy to please customers, Fashos is implementing an omni channel strategy,
allowing people to buy in a number of ways any product that is available anywhere in the world,
and for it to be delivered in any way (at home, at the store or at a pick-up point). This is possible
thanks to the use of ​RFID identification chips, “ship from store” tools, a digital “click and
collect” solution and “endless aisle” technology.​”

“​In essence, Fashos has a return and refund policy which also takes the products back seamlessly
and provides refund within 7 days of the delivery. The organization also has stationed
warehouses which make sure that the products don’t have to travel huge distances and thus
delivery of these products takes very less time.​”

“​The upstream chain ​in Fashos is the relation between the various brands that are associated
with the organization as well as the other elements in the procurement of the shoes. Since Fashos
has multiple brands such as Bata and Hush Puppies, a clear system of procurement is followed
which makes the availability of product hassle-free to both Fashos and inevitably to the end
consumer as well.​”

“​The ​downstream chain in Fashos is the delivery of the goods to the end consumers and that is
done very efficiently through logistical support from various logistic companies that make sure
that the goods reach their destination unhampered and free from damage.​”
Q.2 Explain the business strategies used by Fashos.com to have the sustainable business model.
Also include the business models used by Fashos.com both by transaction type (revenue model)
and transaction parties.

A.2 Fashos follows the ​Business-to-Consumer Model which is the standard model for
e-commerce companies and involves dealing with a singular end client at the end of a highly
complex chain of delivery of goods.

“​B2C, the acronym for "business-to-consumer", is a business model based on transactions


between a company, that sells products or services, and individual customers who are the
end-users of these products. B2C e commerce definition suggests the commerce transaction
through a company website featured with online catalog.​”

“​Most Internet users are familiar with the B2C ecommerce model. Consumers appreciate the
convenience of online shopping where they now can purchase clothes, electronics, media
subscriptions and services via the Internet. In the past couple of years, the total online revenue in
Europe has been worth about 500 billion euros. And according to reports, the further growth of
industry is predicted; the ecommerce market's full potential has not yet been reached.​”

“​The established players are not always the competition. As in any emerging market, B2C
ecommerce participants have huge potential in niche and local fragmentation. The winning
formulas vary for international multi-channel distributors, theme-based online stores, specific
deal aggregators, or national closed retailing. But the key challenges are still quite similar for all
B2C online stores.​”

“​Fashos’s Business strategy seeks to create customer awareness regarding the products that they
offer, develop the customer base, and work toward building customer loyalty and referrals.​”

“​The message that Fashos seeks to communicate is that they offer the largest selection of
fashionable shoes in the country. People no longer need to travel to a shop to find nice shoes.
The first method that Fashos use to communicate this is location. Passion Soles has chosen
Delhi as the centerpoint of its activity with an all-radiating presence over the Internet. This
generates large amounts of visibility for Fashos.​”

Another method of communication is advertisements over the Internet. Associating with


youtube and Google ads makes sure that everyone knows their way around when they go around
purchasing shoes.
“​Also, Fashos follows the E-Commerce business model which is an upgrade of the traditional
brick-and-mortar business model. It focuses on selling products by creating a web-store on the
internet. Fashos is basically a store on the Internet selling shoes and thus is a clear fit for this
category based on transaction parties.​”

Fashos also follows an affiliate based model where they give points in their wallet on registration
and shopping from their site. This model provides an affiliate based model to people who want to
buy since these points can be redeemed as discount while shopping. Fashos also tries to give a
personalized experience to each of its customers by asking them to fill a know your style survey
before they go on a buying spree.
