Academic Artifact
Future career interests (if known):
I would like to be a Doctor in the future as a career or a lawyer.

Targeted soft skills you chose for this year:

1. Study Skills

2. Being Engaged

Description of artifact/assignment:
The artifact is another paper that I wrote for English and it was an inside out essay and took a lot
of critical thinking to do and I put a lot of effort into it. The essay was on The Grapes of Wrath.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

I chose this as one of my academic artifacts because I spent a ton of time doing this and it took a
lot of critical thinking to make the paper. I had to do research on aspects of what I was analyzing
and finding evidence to support my claims from The Grapes of Wrath was difficult. I ended up
getting a high B and that satisfied me.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?
I used study skills and being engaged because I had to pay attention to certain aspects of the
book and make sure I was engaged and knew what I was saying.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?
I used critical thinking and creative thinking. I used those skills and I thnik they could be applied
to any class.

Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the course of working on this
Artifact/Assignment? Explain. Yes, I did, I had to use the skills and I saw growth by seeing
myself more attentive and engaged.
