DFS Test Limits and Requirements.
Master mode with radar detection:
Test setup as follow:

Channel Availability check:

UUT completed power up sequence after 1 sec =T1.


UUT Unit Manager indicates Operational mode “Scanning (5.500 GHz)”
After 61 sec (Tch_avail_check ) from power up the UUT perform reset and indicates the following:

1) Operational mode: Online


2) Channel: 5.500 GHz
3) DFS completed. Selected channel is 5.500GHz.

Tests with a radar burst at the beginning of the Channel Availability Check Time

Signal generator power level set as follow:

F=5.5GHz
-62dBm+10dBi +10dBm=-42dBm.

Radar burst, injected to UUT at T1+2 [sec], using radar test signal #1 as defined in table D.3 of ETSI EN 301
893 V1.7.1

Unit manager of UUT indicates the following:

1) “DFS Detected.”
2) Operational mode: Scanning (5.700 GHz). (Channel availability check on new channel).

After 61 [sec]), Operational mode changed to Online the UUT start transmission on the new channel, 5.700GHz,

Tests with a radar burst at the end of the Channel Availability Check Time

Signal generator power level set as follow:

F=5.5GHz
-64dBm+10dBi +10dBm=-42dBm.

Radar burst, injected to UUT at T1+58 [sec], using radar test signal #1 as defined in table D.3 of ETSI EN
301 893 V1.7.1

Unit manager of UUT indicates the following:

1) “DFS Detected.”
2) Operational mode: Scanning (5.700 GHz). (Channel availability check on new channel).

After 61 [sec]), Operational mode changed to Online the UUT start transmission on the new channel, 5.700GHz,
Interference Detection Threshold (during the Channel Availability Check)
Master mode. For channels outside the 5 600 MHz to 5 650.
UUT completed power up sequence after 1 sec =T1.
UUT Unit Manager indicates Operational mode “Scanning (5.5000 GHz)”

Signal generator power level set as follow:

F=5.5GHz
-62dBm+10dBi =-52dBm.

Radar burst, injected to UUT at T1 + 10 [sec], using radar test signal #1 as defined in table D.4 of ETSI EN 301
893 V1.7.1

Unit manager of UUT indicates the following:

1) “DFS Detected.”
2) Operational mode: Scanning (5.700 GHz). (Channel availability check on new channel).
3) After 61 [sec]), Operational mode changed to Online the UUT start transition on the new channel, 5.7000GHz.

*This test was repeated 20 times for radar signals 1,2,5 and 6 as defined in table D.4 of
ETSI EN 301 893 V1.7.1. Detection probabilities are described in the table below:

UUT Unit Manager indicates Operational mode “Sniffer CH 1 (5.6000 GHz)”

Signal generator power level set as follow:

F=5.60GHz
-62dBm+10dBi+10 =-42dBm.

Radar burst, injected to UUT at T1 + X [sec], using radar test signal #1 as defined in table D.4 of ETSI EN 301
893 V1.7.1. Were X=any time during 10 minutes of Channel Availability Check

Unit manager of UUT indicates the following:

1) “DFS Detected.”
2) Operational mode: Scanning (5.640 GHz). (Channel availability check on new channel).
3) After 61 [sec]), Operational mode changed to Online the UUT start transmission on the new channel, 5.640GHz.

*This test was repeated 20 times for radar signals 1,2,5 and 6 as defined in table D.4 of
ETSI EN 301 893 V1.7.1. Detection probabilities are described in the table below:

A link was established between the Master unit MU, and a slave unit SU,
Utilizing more than 30% UUT transmitting time.

Channel Shutdown and Non-Occupancy period-Master mode:


A link was established between the Master unit MU, and a slave unit SU.
Utilizing 30% of transmitting time of the UUT.

UUT was set to scan for available channel only at channel 5.500GHz.

Signal generator power level set as follow:

-62dBm+10dBi +10dBm=-42dBm.

Radar burst, injected to UUT using radar test signal #1 as defined in table D.3 of
ETSI EN 301 893 V1.7.1

Unit manager of UUT indicates the following:

1) “DFS Detected”
2) Operational mode: Scanning (5.500 GHz). (Channel availability check on new channel).

*Slave unit reboots and indicated after reset:


"DFS detected by MU on channel 5,500GHz"
Operational mode: Scanning

No transmission/output power was observed during 1sec of Channel closing transmission Time.
No transmission/output power was observed during 10 sec of Channel Move Time.
UUT stayed in Scanning (5.500 GHz) mode for 30 minutes equal to Non-Occupancy Period limit.

After 30 minutes the unit changed its operational mode to Online CH 01.

Link between the master and the slave was reestablished.

Operational mode: Scanning (5.700GHz)

No transmission/output power was observed during 1sec of Channel closing transmission Time.

No transmission/output power was observed during 10 sec of Channel Move Time

UUT stayed in scanning CH (5.500 GHz) mode for 30 minutes equal to Non-Occupancy Period limit.

After 30 minutes the unit changed its operational mode to Online.

Link between the master and the slave was reestablished.
