My name is Samuel Austin Miller, an Art Education graduate from the University of Northern Colorado.
Thank you for taking time to look over my resume and considering me for a position at your school!

I have a love for story telling, and I believe that art is a visual way to tell a story. Students are often
searching for their own way to tell their story. Art is the answer for many of them, and even if it is not I
still believe the creative process that goes into art can be applied to other subjects as well. I have
experience working in traditional media such as graphite and charcoal, paints, ceramics, printmaking,
and even metal smithing and wood working. While my emphasis is in Drawing, I also have experience
with the ever-growing world of digital art. Most of my personal work in the last several years has been
created digitally. Adobe software and a variety of iPad drawing software are great tools for creating, and
I think that having that as an option for students is important.

As someone who grew up attending a rural school I understand the importance of a school in these
areas. The smaller school population allows for a more direct teaching method where teachers can learn
what each student’s individual needs are. Whether in a small or large classroom, I believe that building
strong relationships with students is the key to their success in and out of school.
