Schrödinger's cat

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Today, I plan to say a few words about the famous thought experiment Schrodinger’s cat, devised by
Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935, though the idea originated from Albert Einstein.

What is the experiment about?

The experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, illustrates what Erwin Scrodinger saw as the
problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects.
The scenario presents a hypothetical cat that may be simultaneously both alive and dead, a state
known as a quantum superposition, as a result of being linked to a random subatomic event that
may or may not occur.
I’ve divided my talk into three parts. In the first part is about motivation and the origin of Scrodinger’s

First I’ll talk about the motivation and the origin of Scrodinger’s idea. Second, I want to describe the
experiment and third, I’ll give you some examples of applications.
