1. The candidate shall pass the proposal defence within the norm and maximum periods, relative to the registration
date of the programme as follows:

2. Prior to executing the research, students are required to submit a Research Proposal for review and approval. A
student is only permitted to proceed with his/her research leading to the submission of a thesis, upon receiving
approval for the Research Proposal, as well as fulfilling any ethics requirements.

3. One copy of pages 2 through 3 are to be completed by the committee at the end of the proposal while the student
is outside of the room during the committee’s deliberation. This form must be completed even if the committee
determines that the proposal is unacceptable.

4. The student should review the evaluation with the committee at the end of the proposal or with the advisor at a
later date.
