There is no restriction on the number of series that may be carried out on the same type of portable fre ertinguisher without modifications, but @ series shall consist of consecutive fires and Fesuisshali not be ignored, The,upper parts of the wall of the different trays are puton the same level, ‘The indicated Class B test fres shall comply. with EN 3:7, 8.22 Powder extinguishers Powder extinguishers have to fll fil the required type of test fre as per Table 10, Table 10 — Required B tost fire for powder extinguishers Nominal charge in kg Minimum required test fre 25 1B 60 us 700 we 70 vB NOTE __If]en extinguisher, when part of a range of extinguishers of the’same type (same manufacturer, same basic design; same nozzle and sare average clsoharge output rate), achieves a fos fre then the larger size wil be accepted to have the same fre rating without fee test ‘Average discharge output rate = (filing massiresidual mass)/duration of operation 8.23 Water based extinguishers Water based extinguishers have to ful fl the required type of test fire as per Table 11 21 EN 1866-1:2007 (E) Table 11 — Required B test fire for water based extinguishers Nominal:charge in ‘Minimum roquired test fire 20/25 18. 455 a0 ‘07100 mB 185/150. Weigh the residual'mass of the extinguishing media 'A.3 Measurement of the force NOTE Sepa, Apply the forces. statically and perpendicularly at the normal:point where force is Used to ‘render the extinguisher operable, Measure the force with a suitable gauge. A.4 Measurement of the energy NOTE Se08.82, ‘The energy of 2 J is obtained as follows: Placed 2 cylincrical stee! weight with fiat surfaces measuring 75 mm diameter and weighing’ kg is tobe in a structure that wil allow it to free-fall vertically from 2 height of 50 mm. Apply the impact in the direction of the operating moti, A.5 Measurement of leakage of the control valve NOTE Sees Operate an extinguisher unl the extinguishing media Is discharged for between 5 % and 16 % of the duration of the operation and then close the valve by a simple action intended to interupt the emission of the extinguishing media, 23 In the case of a cartridge extinguisher the discharge shall take place’ 3 min after the extinguisher is pressurized. .
