SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 8 (ARTS)

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. identify the characteristics of arts and crafts found in China, Japan and Korea like painting,
pottery and paper arts;

b. analyze art elements (color, line, shape, etc.); and principles (texture, proportion, emphasis,
harmony, etc.) in the production of art in China, Japan and Korea

c. create an artwork originated from China, Japan and Korea.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Unit II: East Asian Arts

Reference: Music and Arts 8 Learner’s Module, page 251-273

Materials: pictures, laptop, art materials

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities:

- Greetings

B. Motivation:

- Show pictures of the paper folding, printing and mask

- Let students identify and explain their own understanding about the photos

C. Presentation of the lesson:

- In East Asia, there are different forms of artworks which can be differ in concept and
way of expression.

IV. Lesson Proper

- Woodblock printing and Calligraphy

- Korean Mask

- Paper folding (Origami)

V. Evaluation

In a group consist of 10 members, create the three common artworks in East Asia.
