This course aims to help students build their communication skills and English language proficiency. During this course
students will work on the four main skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) through interaction with one another and
the teacher in individual, pair and group work. The primary focus would be to build students’ oral skills. They will be given
opportunities to research, talk and present on various topics. This aims to raise interest in current affairs and is a good basis
for the development of language skills.

Grading and General Course Policies:


The grading will be done as per the policy of the university, however, the final grade for the course will be determined based
on the total points accumulated in the below areas with following weight age:

Students will be evaluated during the semester through projects, class presentations, and class and home assignments.
Students will be expected to remain updated with language skills they acquire over the weeks.

They will also be marked on quizzes, a midterm and the final examination.
