    The Bronte sisters were Charlotte, Emily, Anne, and Branwell from Yorkshire, England in the early 1800s. Their mother died when they were young and they were educated at home where they wrote stories together. Charlotte published Jane Eyre, Emily published Wuthering Heights, and Anne published Agnes Grey. All achieved literary success but also faced tragedy as Branwell and all the sisters except Charlotte died of tuberculosis in their late 20s or 30s. Charlotte was left alone with her father after the deaths of her siblings.
