Mild steel samples were chosen as substrate for the overall project. They were prepared and coated
with epoxy polymer at different pressures using pressurized spray gun and compressor, and erosion
tests was done on them. Erosion rate was used as a measure of wear resistance and further coating
was optimized for pressure values.

Silica nanoparticles were included in the epoxy at different concentrations as shown in the table and
the mixture was sonicated for 30 minutes. After that, coating was done at 6 bar pressure (as an
outcome of erosion rate) and further characterization was done for such coatings.

The experimental details further shows the optimisation of coating with respect to nanoparticle
concentration and coating pressure (pneumatic).
