CYLINDER INDENTIFICATION

NOTE: Before refilling any air cylinders. A Visual Inspection must be carried out on the condition of
the cylinder and the cylinders shelf life and the hydro test validity. If there is any doubt, or if the hydro
test validity has expired the cylinder is to be emptied and taken out of service or to be double checked
by an authorized hydro tester
This is for the safety of the person refilling the cylinder.

DOT 3AA, DOT E 9909

Visual Inspection – Free of: - Corrosion, Pitting, Dents, Cuts, Digs, Gouges, Bulge,
Neck Defects, Cracks, Impact Damage and Fire Damage.

Life Time - - - - - Indefinite:- As long as it Passes Hydro Test Every 5 Years.

Five Point Star *- - - - - - - Hydro Test every 10 Years.
Star found - Next to date of Manufacture.
Plus Sign + - - - - - - - - - -Can be refilled up to 10% more than the Service Pressure.

Aluminum Cylinder DOT 3AL

Visual Inspection – Free of:- Corrosion, Pitting, Dents, Cuts, Digs, Gouges, Bulge,
Neck Defects, Cracks, Impact Damage and Fire Damage.
Life Time - - - - - Indefinitely: As long as it Passes Hydro Test Every 5 Years

Hoop-Wrapped Cylinder Aluminum with Fiber Wrap.

Visual Inspection – Free of:- Corrosion, Pitting, Dents, Cuts, Digs, Gouges, Bulge,
Neck Defects, Cracks, Impact Damage, Fiber Damage
and Fire Damage.

Life Time – Shelf Life - -15 Years:- Must Pass Hydro Test Every 3 Years

Light Weight Cylinder Full Wrap (Fiber, Carbon Fiber or Composite)

Visual Inspection – Free of:- Cuts, Digs, Gouges, Bulge, Nick Defects, Cracks,
Impact Damage, Fiber Damage, Epoxy Damage
and Fire Damage.

Life Time - - - - -15 Years:- Must Pass Hydro Test Every 3 Years

Light Weight Cylinder Carbon Fiber: Full Wrap

DOT SP 10945 and DOT SP 8162

After 1st JULY 2001 cylinders must be Hydro Tested every 5 years.
