Essential​ ​Question:
What​ ​impact​ ​did​ ​the​ ​Bubonic​ ​Plague​ ​have​ ​on​ ​European​ ​society​ ​during​ ​the​ ​Middle​ ​Ages?

Materials:
​ ​Paper,​ ​Pencils,​ ​Poster​ ​Board,​ ​Markers,​ ​Textbooks,​ ​Previous​ ​Day’s​ ​Notes,​ ​Minds.

Groups:
Students​ ​are​ ​sorted​ ​into​ ​groups​ ​of​ ​4​ ​or​ ​5​ ​as​ ​they​ ​enter​ ​the​ ​room,​ ​with​ ​student​ ​one​ ​put​ ​into
group​ ​one​ ​and​ ​student​ ​two​ ​in​ ​group​ ​two,​ ​and​ ​so​ ​on​ ​until​ ​all​ ​students​ ​are​ ​in​ ​groups.​ ​(ike​ ​dealing
out​ ​a​ ​deck​ ​of​ ​cards.)

1.​ ​Students​ ​will​ ​choose​ ​a​ ​leader,​ ​2-3​ ​lawmakers,​ ​and​ ​a​ ​scribe​ ​for​ ​each​ ​group.
2.​ ​The​ ​groups​ ​lawmakers​ ​will​ ​use​ ​their​ ​notes​ ​from​ ​yesterday​ ​and​ ​their​ ​their
textbooks​ ​to​ ​determine​ ​what​ ​caused​ ​the​ ​the​ ​Plague​ ​to​ ​become​ ​so​ ​widespread,​ ​and​ ​then
determine​ ​what​ ​laws​ ​fictional​ ​countries​ ​(their​ ​groups)​ ​could​ ​have​ ​passed​ ​during​ ​that​ ​time
to​ ​prevent​ ​Bubonic​ ​Plague​ ​from​ ​spreading​ ​to​ ​their​ ​country,​ ​with​ ​input​ ​from​ ​the​ ​rest​ ​of​ ​the
group.​ ​Students​ ​may​ ​name​ ​their​ ​country.
3.​ ​The​ ​scribe​ ​will​ ​write​ ​down​ ​the​ ​causes​ ​and​ ​the​ ​group’s​ ​solutions​ ​onto​ ​the​ ​poster
board​ ​in​ ​an​ ​orderly​ ​manner.
4.​ ​When​ ​all​ ​groups​ ​have​ ​finished,​ ​the​ ​group​ ​leaders​ ​will​ ​present​ ​their​ ​boards​ ​in
front​ ​of​ ​the​ ​class​ ​(this​ ​may​ ​carry​ ​over​ ​into​ ​tomorrow)

1.Show​ ​students​ ​example​ ​board(s)​ ​made​ ​by​ ​past​ ​students​ ​or​ ​by​ ​me.
2.​ ​Lets​ ​students​ ​work​ ​on​ ​boards,​ ​walking​ ​around​ ​the​ ​room​ ​to​ ​answer​ ​questions​ ​and
provide​ ​support.
