The humor of “Burlesque” should not be stressed at the expense of a full tone and a forceful rhythm. “‘Scene’’ is cinematic; a number of ideas some new, some mildly reminiscent of the other movements appear before the final dissolution. The performer is urged not to over-extend pauses between the phrases. He should substitute his name in the title of the composition. AB.
