DIOMEDES DIAZ

Diomedes was born on May 26 of 1957, he was born in La Junta a village of San Juan del Cesar
Guajira. He was a Colombian singer and composer of Vallenato music. When he was at school a
classmate accidentally hit him with a stone in the eye, leaving him one-eyed. Since he was little, he
liked to music a lot. It was his uncle Martin Maestre, who was recognized for knowing how to play
the accordion very well, who helped him develop the talent to sing. Although he came from a
limited resources family, he did not give up.

Rafael Orozco after recording a song with him, nicknamed him "the chief of the junta" and he was
always remembered that way. Later, he achieved a third place in the category of unpublished song
at the Vallenata Legend Festival, and in 1997 he recorded his first production as an independent
artist and in that same year he recorded the album Tres songs, which made him very famous.

He was considered one of the best exponents of the genre. But several scandals accompanied her
singing career, among which her addiction to drugs is known. Something that marked his life was
that, he was involved in the death of Doris Adriana Niño.

Diomedes Díaz had more than 10 stable couples in his life and also lovers with whom he had 28
recognized children and then died on December 22, 2013 in Valledupar due to cardiorespiratory
arrest
