Reflection

The Literacy Narrative has taught me about being concise with my writing from fixing

the choppy sentences. I understand my fault in writing where I was not clear with my writing.

From reviewing it I now have a deeper understanding of how to write sentences by not being so

passive with my writing. I do this by reading it over out loud so I can see mistakes in my writing

that maybe I did not see before. Overall the revised Literacy Narrative is a good piece. I believe I

have added enough detail to myself. I have fixed the sloppy writing that was not smooth in its

transitions. This particular writing how to use my voice and character in the best way possible.

Who Is the Stranger? Writing experience taught me how to ask the right questions for the

writing to be the best it can be, for example asking the person personally that they might not tell

everyone. This helped my writing because I had more quotes to go off for the person. The paper

did justice to Brendan Hackett representing him well in her character and who is as a person. In

the paper, I fixed mistakes such as awkward lines that didn't fit well to describe his character as

well as extra words that were not needed in the writing.

The rhetorical analysis was on Gideon's Army and the process taken in the writing that I

struggled with was defining the audience and giving a broader perspective on the documentary

itself. I fixed this by adding more detail about the public defenders and attempting to bring to

light what the public defenders have offered to their communities. I defined the audience to be

people of all colors in society to understand and have empathy for the public defenders. I think

many people lack respect for public defenders and do not see how hard they work. In the paper, I

defined this well by showing how they put everyone before themselves and themselves last. I

learned from this writing experience that sometimes you have to watch a documentary twitch to

grasp all of the details being done throughout the paper.

In The Argument analysis paper, I attempted to bring light to the Trump Administration

and the policy surrounding the Hyde Amendment I analyzed the paper written by ProQuest

Central. I learned the most challenging part about writing this paper was understanding how to

analyze the paper without becoming argumentative. I believe my revisions have given it a better

analytical point of view rather than a point of view in being defensive. I learned how to distance

myself from the topic and to still write about it.

The argument writing experience was by far the most challenging paper, there was a lot of

research that took place as well as finding empathy within my self to a woman who doesn't have

access to abortions since I am not a woman myself it helped me get out of my comfort zone and

write an argumentative paper that has defensible claims with evidence supporting access to

abortions for the woman. I revised the paper to make the three-prong thesis to be bold and to be

supported by the five sources. The paper flows very well now, moving from the 14th amendment

to the importance of access to women of color and why they have the right to abortion access.
