Does ph affect amylase activity, if so how?

IV = pH
DV= Appearance of product
CVs= Time, temperature and volume

Method

Place a drop of iodine solution into the wells on a spotting tile

Then you take three test tubes and add 2ml of starch solution to one and 2ml of amylase
solution to one and 2ml of ph6 buffer into the third one

You then let the test tubes sit in a 30c water bath for 10 minutes until mixing them together
with a stirring rod

When they have been mixed you take a drop from of the solution and add it onto the spotting
tile every 30 seconds

You do this until the iodine solution stays orange

Repeat the experiment with different ph buffers

pH used: 3, 6, 9
Repeats: 3
