Calculation of Hydropower Generation

I. Daily traffic data

The hydropower station's power generation calculation is best to have daily flow data for more than 15 consecutive years in the basin, this power
station does not have this data. Only close to 9 months of daily flow data. The measured flow data in this basin is preferentially used in this basin. The
measured daily flow data in this basin is from May 21, 2019 to January 31, 2020. Therefore, the flow calculated by rainfall analysis in a similar basin is
not used data. This power station is a runoff hydropower station without a regulating reservoir. It has daily flow data. It is preferred to use daily flow
data instead of monthly flow data.

From Sequence Table 2, the daily average flow rate (probability 50%, equivalent to 128 days) for 256 days is 26.09 m3 / s, and the probability flow
rate 60% (equivalent to 159 days) is 22.13 m3 / s, probability 90% The flow rate (equivalent to 230 days in a sequence) is 12.70 m3 / s, and the
probability of 95% (equivalent to 243 days in a sequence) is 11.18 m3 / s. The daily flow data is less than a hydrological year, and there is a lack of
daily flow data for 109 days from February 1, 2020 to May 20, 2020. However, February to May is the rainy season, and the daily flow of the river is
much larger than the cited flow of power generation. The hydropower station will also generate water abandonment after power diversion, and the
hydropower station can fully send 10mw from February to May. Therefore, as long as the complete dry season flow data (daily flow is less than the
power diversion flow), the annual power generation of the hydropower station can be accurately calculated .

II. Design head

According to the information provided by the makassar design institute:

Normal water level of the dam:
Power generation tail water level:
Head loss: 4.07 m (calculation basis required)
Water purification head H: 71.00 m

III. Design flow

According to the parameters of the hydropower equipment provided by Zhejiang Jinhua Water Turbine Factory, China: the efficiency of the turbine is
93.5%, and the efficiency of the generator is 96%
According to the parameters of the hydropower equipment provided by Hangzhou Generator Plant in Zhejiang, China: the efficiency of the turbine is
92.7%, and the efficiency of the generator is 96%.
The power station's calculated turbine efficiency is 92.5%, and the generator efficiency is 96%.
A = 9.8 * 0.925 * 0.96 = 8.7
N = A * H * Q = 8.7 * 71.00 * Q = 617.7Q,
When N = 10000KW, the corresponding design flow Q = 10000 / 617.7 = 16.19m3 / s
When generating power from a hydropower station, the ecological flow at the downstream of the dam should maintain 2.691m3 / s (this data needs
to provide a basis). Therefore, when the flow of the river is greater than 16.19 + 2.691 = 18.881m3 / s, the hydropower station can reach full 10mw.

IV. The annual power generation at different installed scales

A. Annual power generation at 10MW
1. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river less than 18.881m3 / s
The daily flow data from the river is obtained from the large to small sequence table. The flow on the 181st day is 18.76m3 / s, which
cannot meet the requirements of full power generation. Now calculate the power generation of the sequence from 181 days to 256 days.
The flow is 14.322m3 / s, minus the ecological flow of 2.691m3 / s, and the average daily flow that can be used for power generation is
14.322-2.691 = 11.631m3 / s, correspondingly
Daily average power generation = 8.7 * 11.631 * 71 * 24 = 172427kwh
76-day power generation E1 = 172427 * 76 = 13104471kwh = 13.10Gkwh
2. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river greater than 18.881m3 / s
From the daily flow data of the river channel from the large to small sequence table, the flow on the 180th day is 18.96m3 / s, which can
meet the requirement of full power of 10mw.
180 days of power generation E2 = 10000 * 24 * 180 = 43200000kwh = 43.2Gkwh
3. Calculate power generation from February 1st to May 20th
Because the river flow in the rainy season is greater than the full capacity of the hydropower station, the hydropower station in this 109
days can be full of 10mw.
109 days of electricity generation E3 = 10000 * 24 * 109 = 26160000kwh = 26.16Gkwh
4. Annual available power generation
E = 13.10 + 43.20 + 26.16 = 82.46Gkwh

5. Estimated annual power generation

Considering that during the operation of the hydropower station, there will be some large and small accidents and equipment failures that
affect the normal power generation of the hydropower station. The electromechanical equipment needs to be repaired, maintained, and
maintained every year. The external power supply lines and other external reasons cause the hydropower station to fail to generate power.
Wait, the total is based on the need to stop for 15 days, reducing power generation by 15 * 24 * 10000 = 3.6Gkwh.
When the installed capacity is 10MW, the estimated annual power generation is 82.46-3.6 = 78.86Gkwh

B. Annual power generation at 12MW

When N = 12000KW, the corresponding design flow Q = 12000 / 617.7 = 19.427m3 / s
When generating power from a hydropower station, the ecological flow at the downstream of the dam should maintain 2.691m3 / s (this data
needs to provide a basis). Therefore, when the flow of the river is greater than 19.427 + 2.691 = 22.118m3 / s, the hydropower station can reach
12mw
1. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river less than 22.118m3 / s
The daily flow data from the river is obtained from the large to small sequence table. The flow on the 166th day is 21.74m3 / s, which can
not meet the requirements of full power. Now calculate the power generation of the sequence from 166 days to 256 days. The 91-day daily
average The flow is 15.353m3 / s, minus the ecological flow of 2.691m3 / s, and the average daily flow that can be used for power
generation is 15.353-2.691 = 12.662m3 / s, correspondingly
Daily average power generation = 8.7 * 12.662 * 71 * 24 = 187711kwh
91-day power generation E1 = 187711 * 91 = 17081757kwh = 17.08Gkwh
2. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river greater than 22.118m3 / s
From the daily flow data of the river channel from the large to small sequence table, the flow on the 165th day is 22.13m3 / s, which can
meet the requirement of full power 12mw.
165 days of power generation E2 = 12000 * 24 * 165 = 47520000kwh = 47.52Gkwh
3. Calculate power generation from February 1st to May 20th
Because the river flow during the rainy season is greater than the full capacity of the hydropower station, the 109-day hydropower station
can fully deliver 12mw.
109-day power generation E3 = 12000 * 24 * 109 = 31392000kwh = 31.39Gkwh
4. Annual available power generation
E = 17.08 + 47.52 + 31.39 = 95.99Gkwh

5. Estimated annual power generation

Considering that during the operation of the hydropower station, there will be some large and small accidents and equipment failures that
affect the normal power generation of the hydropower station. The electromechanical equipment needs to be repaired, maintained, and
maintained every year. The external power supply lines and other external reasons cause the hydropower station to fail to generate power,
etc. Wait, the total is based on 15 days of downtime required, reducing power generation by 15 * 24 * 12000 = 4.32Gkwh.
When the installed capacity is 12MW, the estimated annual power generation is 95.99--4.32 = 91.67Gkwh

C. Annual power generation at 15MW

When N = 15000KW, the corresponding design flow Q = 15000 / 617.7 = 24.284m3 / s
When generating power from a hydropower station, the ecological flow at the downstream of the dam should maintain 2.691m3 / s (this data
needs to provide a basis). Therefore, when the flow of the river is greater than 24.284 + 2.691 = 26.975m3 / s, the hydropower station can reach
15mw
1. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river less than 26.975m3 / s
The daily flow data from the river are obtained from the large to small sequence table. The flow on the 127th day is 26.09m3 / s, which
cannot meet the requirements for full power. The flow is 17.656m3 / s, minus the ecological flow of 2.691m3 / s, and the average daily flow
that can be used for power generation is 17.656-2.691 = 14.965m3 / s, correspondingly
Daily average power generation = 8.7 * 14.965 * 71 * 24 = 221853kwh
130-day power generation E1 = 221853 * 130 = 28840900kwh = 28.84Gkwh
2. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river greater than 26.975m3 / s
From the daily flow data of the river channel from the large to small sequence table, the flow on the 126th day is 27.19m3 / s, which can
meet the requirement of 15mw for full transmission.
126 days power generation E2 = 15000 * 24 * 126 = 45360000kwh = 45.36Gkwh
3. Calculate power generation from February 1st to May 20th
Because the river flow in the rainy season is greater than the flow when the hydropower station is full, the hydropower station can fully
generate 15mw in these 109 days.
109-day power generation E3 = 15000 * 24 * 109 = 39240000kwh = 39.24Gkwh
4. Annual available power generation
E = 28.84 + 45.36 + 39.24 = 113.44Gkwh
Wait, the total is based on 15 days of downtime required, reducing power generation by 15 * 24 * 15000 = 5.40Gkwh.
When the installed capacity is 15MW, the estimated annual power generation is 113.44--5.4 = 108.04Gkwh

D. Annual power generation at 20MW

When N = 20000KW, the corresponding design flow Q = 15000 / 617.7 = 32.378m3 / s
When generating power from a hydropower station, the ecological flow at the downstream of the dam should maintain 2.691m3 / s (this data
needs to provide a basis). Therefore, when the flow of the river is greater than 32.378 + 2.691 = 35.069m3 / s, the hydropower station can reach
20mw at full capacity.
1. Calculate power generation with daily flow of less than 35.069m3 / s
From the daily flow data of the river channel from the large to small sequence table, the flow on the 81st day is 34.87m3 / s, which can not
meet the requirements of full power generation. Now calculate the power generation from 81 days to 256 days, the daily average of 176
days. The flow is 20.936m3 / s, minus the ecological flow of 2.691m3 / s, and the average daily flow that can be used for power generation
is 20.936-2.691 = 18.245m3 / s, correspondingly
Daily average power generation = 8.7 * 18.245 * 71 * 24 = 270478kwh
176 days of electricity generation E1 = 270478 * 176 = 47604200kwh = 47.60Gkwh
2. Calculate power generation with daily flow of the river greater than 35.069m3 / s
From the daily flow data of the river channel from the large to small sequence table, the flow on the 80th day is 35.19m3 / s, which can
meet the requirement of 20mw for full transmission.
80-day power generation E2 = 20000 * 24 * 80 = 38400000kwh = 38.40Gkwh
3. Calculate power generation from February 1st to May 20th
Because the river flow in the rainy season is greater than the flow when the hydropower station is full, the hydropower station can fully
generate 20mw in these 109 days.
109 days of electricity generation E3 = 20000 * 24 * 109 = 52320000kwh = 52.32Gkwh
4. Annual available power generation
E = 47.60 + 38.40 + 52.32 = 138.32Gkwh
Wait, the total is based on 15 days of downtime required, reducing the amount of power generation 15 * 24 * 20000 = 7.20Gkwh.
When the installed capacity is 20MW, the estimated annual power generation is 138.32--7.20 = 131.12Gkwh
10mw scheme was selected for the feasibility study report.

V. Determination of installed capacity

Based on the annual power generation of different installed scales, 10mw, 15wm, and 20mw can be considered, but the size of the power station
depends on the transmission line plan. 10mw can consider the 20kv transmission line plan. 15mw and 20mw need to consider 150kv For the line
plan, a 20kv transmission line plan is now considered. Therefore, the 10mw plan is selected for this feasibility study report.
