EXTENDING AND MODIFYING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER DECLARING A DISASTER EMERGENCY No. 2020S0E-3 WHEREAS, by Executive Order issued on March 12, 2020, pursuant to Section 24 of the Article 2-B of the Executive Law of the State of New York, a disaster emergency was declared in the Town of Riverhead; and WHEREAS, on March 17, 2020, | issued Executive Order 2020SOE-2 which extended and modified the March 12, 2020 Executive Order; and WHEREAS, said Executive Order will now end at midnight on March 22, 2020; and WHEREAS, confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus has been detected in the Town of Riverhead; WHEREAS, the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to be a serious threat to health, welfare and safety of the residents and visitors throughout the Town of Riverhead; and WHEREAS, the State of New York by Executive Order ‘No. 202.7 dated March 19, 2020 directed that local governments reduce their current staffby at least 75% of the entire local government staff; and WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of New York on March 20, 2020 has further mandated that all non-essential business remain closed and that current staff be further reduced. NOW, THEREFORE, J, Yvette M. Aguiar, Supervisor of the Town of Riverhead, pursuant to Section 24 of the Article 2-B of the Executive Law of the State of New York, do hereby further extend and modify the Declaration ofa State of Emergency in the Town of Riverhead; and. FURTHER, pursuant to Section 24 of Article 2-B of the New York State Executive Law, I direct that the Declaration of a State of Emergency continue as amended: 1. That vital services ofthe Town of Riverhead shall continue, including those provided by the police department, sewer district, water district and sanitation department; 2. That Emergency Operations shall continue; 3. Thatall Town of Riverhead playgrounds are closed; 4, Thatall Town of Riverhead dog parks ae closed, 5. Except for those essential personnel in the departments providing vital services, all Town employees shall remain home until further notice effective March 23, 2020; 6.
