Chapter I.

'Nicolas, if you ever hear us, please wake up...'

My eyes are closed, my body’s relaxed, but my mind just can't stop. All I can
hear is the strong wind that directly blows unto my face. Car’s moving forward- I
know my heart will do the same too. I am going to the province of Himalaya to
freshen up myself and restart a life from a toxic relationship I had with my past love,
Thalia. Anyway, my name's Christopher Nicolas Saavedra.
She was a gold medalist in “playing the victim” game. I was trying to save us,
until I caught her with her ex-boyfriend, kissing torridly in her condo unit. I once
became a dork, but I have never regret to cut off everything between us. Thanks
God, I am saved.
Himalaya was a 4-mile farther from the City of Celistine, where I live.
I was rose by my grandfather there until I got 7. That was because my parents want
me my first years in life to be away from people, polluted areas, so that they they'll
take a firm hold unto molding and disciplining a young seed.
These past years, I have been too drown in pressure, investments, and plans to
increase sales in our company. Since then, I wanted to just take a break and find the
faded me. I can see right from here, my grandfather's wide smile approaching me.
How I admire his wrinkled hands and broken teeth. I can read him; he missed me so
much.
The moment I went out of my car, he hugged me so tight. Then, I was surprised,
my childhod friends were all present, with variant presents for me. In the back of my
head, something was lingering, "my birthday's on the 10th day of December, but
why they seem to be having a birthday celebration for me?'' Oh... I never failed on
deciding to visit this place, the hospitable people, with thousand beautiful old
memories, I am still blessed.
As we happily eating together, my grandfather asked me about Thalia. For their
information, I update him every time about what happens to my life, both good and
bad ones. I told him not to think too much about it, that toxins shall be excreted. I
run a company exceptionally, with all intelligence, complex strategies, and
professionalism. So what's the point of investing my life into high class fraudulence
and impurity?
My grandfather runs a two hundred hectares avocado plantation in the province.
That night, he told me to practice managing it because he gets old, weak, and
impotent. That slaps me. The plantation has been passed from our ancestry up to my
grandfather and now, to me. I cannot disappoint him, his aspirations for me.
Despite that I am privileged with a prominent and influencial family, nothing
went easy for me. I started from being a crew until I have been hired as the
Marketing Director in our very own company. I can say that everything about me
has all rooted from hardwork and discipline, not a blood linked victory. As usual, I
had to learn from the basics of harvesting avocados. I honestly do not have any idea
about it. I am dead serious.

Chapter II.

One morning, in the farm, a lady caught my attention. She has an ideal body
shape, long wavy hair, and a charismatic smile in the simplest way. Her skin was
directly exposed to sunlight (around 5 in the afternoon) compliments her deep color
complexion and her brown eyes. She was a Goddess, really. She held an eye contact
with me, and that's enough to complete this day.
My grandfather tapped me on shoulder, confirmed me why I just looked carried
away. Without any hesitation, he told me the lady's name, Crysantha, about
twenties, the eldest daughter of two farmers. He knew that I was mesmerized,
telling me that my eyes were telling a statement. Then, he called her. Calm down! I
gotta maintain my mystique.
"From now on, you will be trained by Crysantha the basics on avocado
harvesting.", told grandfather to me. I just remained speechless. Then, he left us.
I asked her where to start the training session. No doubt, I was a begginer there. I
felt like behind.
She taught me procedures so fine. All the time I was expecting her to be lady like,
but as we really get into the tutorial, she revealed her true color: a mixture o
humuor, sarcasm, and enthusiasm. But hella! She was still the most attractive lady
I'd ever seen. " If you're the boss in your company, here in the farm, you are under
me." *burts out laughing* She was then testing my patience. I cannot deny, I always
had fun with her, every day, in one whole month.
Days have arrived, then I realized, I just cannot live without her. She became
my most sought after person. Yes, she cannot compete with the high class women I
dated before, but she was totally different, an epitome of simplicity and perfection,
an understatement, my home. I wanna express, but I'm scared to the possibility that
our feelings were not mutual.
" Congratulations, you've been doing exceptional again.", my grandfather
congratulated me. Then, I brought back the complinment to Crysantha. " Thank you,
Crysantha.", I hereby said. Then, she responded me with a genuine smile.
Though the training sessions have been completed, we still find ways on
meeting up with each other. Joy rides, tours, deep talks, dinner dates... we had these
all. As the man, I cannot resist myself on letting her feel loved and special, but the
problem was, I have never confessed anything to her infused with her silence- just
found out how the weakness of the multi- awarded Marketing Director of M.I.L.E
Corporation.

One night, I asked her to have dinner with me. As usual, she was stunning
above anybody else. That time, my plans were polished. I am going to tell her my
true feelings left behind, untold. " I have been preparing for this special night, to tell
you what I have been hiding since they day I saw you at the farm. You stole my heart
already. Te amo, Crysantha.", I told her. Instantly, teardrops fell out from her
precious eyes. I was not expecting that. " I am the happiest. All my life, I thought
that my world is limited to this province, until God has presented me you. ", she
replied. On that time, I promised myself that I will spend my life with the person
facing me, that evening.
Chapter III.

Honoring Crysantha's family, I have asked her hands from her parents. I was
so happy because they trusted their daughter to me wholeheartedy. It was a plus
factor that I've already established good relationship with them since we worked
together in the Avocado plantation.
Like anybody else's relationship, we argue on some things. But we both make
sure that before we go asleep, problems have been fixed. Every time I look at her
eyes, I get reminded of how I fell in love at first sight for her. In the back of my mind,
there was '' I will never stop until you get in there, love"
As we get committed into a relationship, I've never been a pure boyfriend,
my role as her mentor in achieving her dreams weighed heavier. Yes, I supported
her in thousand possible ways. I always allot time for her to focus studying, helping
myself not to talk to her for hours, while always reminding her that I always got her
back, no matter what. I was so glad then because she was doing her best in her
endeavor.
On our third anniversary, a month after her graduation, I finally proposed to
her at Relgium twin tower. I reserved a table in the most prestigious restaurant in
there. I told her to pamper herself, buy a new dress, do make-over, and get the look.
We were filled with love, that night became the most memorable time for us, we're
finally engaged.
Chapter IV.

Christina Santiago, daughter of my business partner, a Marketing Director,

Magna Cum Laude in Stanford University, a popular Filipina model, has been
appointed with me in a dinner for business matter. I was too busy that I forgot to
inform my fiance about it, but I just believed that she would definitely understand
the situation.
Surprisingly, my fiance's at the same venue as well. I told her to join us in our
table, but she was way different that time, she was filled with lifeless aura. I
introduced Ms. Santiago to her, then she forced a smile. Ms. Santiago offered a
handshake to her, but she refused to do so, and walked out. Before running after
Chrysantha, I asked Ms. Santiago an apology- too bad they've been turned off. "How
can I entrust your company to be business partners with us if even at first, you acted
disrespectful and unprofessional?", Ms. Santiago stated with clash. That was a total
embarrasment.
We went home without uttering a single word. I tried to approach her but all
she said was, " I am sorry if I just grew up in a province and only knows how to
harvest avocados." I answered it wandering how did she come up to such pointless
conclusion. She started comparing herself to my ex- girlfriends. I countered attack
every assumptios she insisted.
I was still half- asleep, reaching out for her, but I cannot find her. Every
morning, she acted like that. She was not the lady I fell in love with years ago. I do
not know her anymore. I wander whether to pospone our wedding or not. Until one
night, when I came home, a saw a boy around 5-8 sitting, and servings of my favorite
dishes. I was so happy because I thought Chrysantha was doing her ways to
reconcile with me. But when I leaned forward, my heart beat stopped for a while. I
cannot believe who I saw, It was Thalia, my ex-girlfriend before Crysantha. "
Welcome home, baby!", said Thalia. " Are you getting insane? First, i am not your
baby. Second, you are not welcome here." i replied. " Is that what you are gonna let
your son hear from you?" she said with evident sarcasm. Wait, I heard someone
crying. " Crysantha? wait. Calm down yourself.", said I. Her despaired eyes. Her heart
was torn. I can't get enough. " You fooled me all this time. Now, I know why you do
not want to build a family with me. That was because, you already had", she said in
anger. I confirmed to Thalia that it was impossible for us to bear a child. We never
slept together. " You are a coward" said Thalia. Crysantha walked out, and packed
her things up to go back to the province.
I tried to stop her but her parents were there, both mad for I had destroyed
their trust to me. I went to hospital to confirm if the boy was my real son. After a
week, the result has been revealed, it was negative. He was not my son.
I urged going to the province, and get back Chrysantha. Then, I saw her going
downstairs in rush. I called her, then we both hugged each other. She told me that
she should have understood the situation. Then, I explained that the boy carried by
Thalia was confirmed negative in DNA test. She was crying, telling me that she was
pregnant. Oh God! We were so lucky.
On our ride to city, we were enjoying until all I saw was all light and a sound
of car crash.
* goes back to reaity*
Tut... tut... tut...
What are these plain white ceiling, why I am here in the hospital? Suddenly,
my mother approached me, Crytsantha and your baby were dead on arrival. They
did not survive.
