EXT.

The camera slowly moves forward over a

desert landscape. An old Mexican Church
can be in the distance, obscured by
waves of heat rising off the desert
floor.

Narrator (v.O.)
The legend of
the Lost Gold
of Juarez has
been passed
from one
generation to
the next since
the time of
Hernando
Cortez. It was
said to be the
ransom for
Montezuma,
held hostage
by the Spanish
in the great
Aztec capital
of
Tenochtitlan.
The treasure
disappeared
soon after the
sacking of the
city and some
believe it's
buried near
the border
town of
Juarez. The
legend relates
that the Aztec
Sun God put a
curse on the
treasure and
that all who
seek it will
find only
madness and
their own
perdition.
This
avaricious
madness has
come to be
known as...
The Call of
Juarez.

The camera comes to rest on a headstone

over an old grave.

RENDITION OF BILLY.

He's nineteen, tall, wiry, with dark

eyes and hair. He looks part Native
American, part Hispanic. His voice has
a Texas twang.

Billy (V.O.)
I'm Billy. Ma
would never
say who my
father was, so
I don't got no
last name. She
gave me this
medallion
before I could
talk. It's
engraved with
a candle
stick, so
that's what
kid's called
me. Candle.
Beats spic or
pepper gut.
Yeah, my Ma's
from Mexico.
The town I
grew up in is
just over the
border and the
folks there
are mostly
white. Like my
stepfather.
Thomas. A big,
mean son of a
bitch who
would just as
soon backhand
me as look at
me.

EXT. MOUNTAIN SPRING - DAY

Billy is hiking home, crossing over a

stream, and down a trail. The player
controls Billy from a first person
perspective. As the player navigates
his way down the rugged trail, we
continue to hear Billy's voice.

Billy (V.O.)
I grew up in a
town called
Hope. Pretty
much the most
hopeless place
I've ever
seen. It's
full of drunks
and drifters,
thieves and
liars. And
those are the
leading
citizens. Like
my 'dear'
stepfather who
knocked the
tar out of me
at least once
a day, rain or
shine. Said he
was teaching
me how to be a
man. But all
he taught me
is how to take
a beatin'. The
last time he
laid a hand on
me was over
two years ago.

Billy (the player) continues to work

his way down a steep mountain trail.

BILLY
I took off and
didn't look
back. I left
to find my
fortune. The
legendary Gold
of Juarez.
Wanted to
prove to that
S.O.B. that I
could be more
than he ever
was. But the
world's a hard
place and I
didn't find
squat. So now
I'm back.
Hungry. Broke.
I don't have
nothing. Not
even a last
name.

When Billy (the player) sees the town

of Hope in the distance.

BiLLY
Well, there it
is...Hope. A
haven for
outlaws,
assholes, and
hypocrites.

When Billy (the player) sees Jones'

Cabin just down the hill.

BILLY
Jones' cabin!
Good place to
practice some
shootin`...

When Billy gets caught walking onto

Jones' property, old JONES, a crusty
old farmer chases him off.

Jones
What the heck
are you
doin`!? This
is private
property!

BILLY
Ok, ok,
easy...

If Billy is caught again.

JONES
I told you to
get out! Get
off my
property!

After finding the gun on Jones's

property, the tutorial begins, showing
the player the mechanics of movement
and shooting. Before he can advance,
the player has to shoot three bottles
off a fence.

JONES
Hey! You
wouldn't shoot
`ol Jones,
would you? I
got nothing
against you...
We don't need
no trouble
now!

If Billy starts shooting up the farm.

JONES
Stop that! You
want me to get
the sheriff?

If Billy continues to shoot up buckets

and bottles.

JONES
No! Stop it,
boy! Don't do
that!

When Billy (the player) leaves Jones's

farm and heads on a dirt trail towards
town, the voice over continues.

BILLY (V.O.)
I'm here to
see the one
person on
Earth who ever
gave a damn
about me. My
Ma. Other then
my stepfather,
there are
three
sumbitch's in
particular I
hope to avoid.
Tim Powell,
our sheriff -
who always
thought I was
up to no
good...even
when I wasn't.
Clyde
Forrester,
owner of the
Grand Saloon -
meanest
peckerhead
you've ever
seen. And then
there's the
biggest
bastard of 'em
all, my
stepfather's
brother,
Reverend Ray.
The most
self-righteous
son of a bitch
who ever
picked up a
bible.

As Billy crosses a long wooden bridge

into town, he's stopped by the Sheriff
of Hope, TIM POWELL. He's a
tough-looking man in his forties.

tim powell
My, my...
Billy Candle!
Been a long
time, boy.

BILLY
Sheriff...

TIM POWELL
I don't think
Thomas`ll be
too pleased to
see you. You
come back to
set things
right with
him?

BILLY
I'm here to
see my ma.

TIM POWELL
Well...before
you go out
there I think
you better
give me your
gun.

If the player hesitates.

TIM POWELL
Hand it over.

BILLY
But sheri...

TIM POWELL
Drop it, boy!

When Billy (the player) drops his gun.

tIM POWELL
(sar
cast
ic)
)
Welcome back.
Just don't do
anything
stupid, son.

BiLLY
I'm not your
son.

TIM POWELL
Thank God for
that, boy,
thank God for
that.

As Billy wanders into town, he mumbles

to himself.

BILLY (V.O.)
Just got to
town and the
Sheriff's
already on my
ass. Son of a
bitch...Damn,
I gotta get
myself a gun.

When Billy sees a group of mean-looking

saddle tramps standing in the street.

BILLY
Look at those
hombres...They
look like
trouble.

If Billy approaches the undertaker.

Undertaker
Billy Candle!
Is that you?
Boy, you're
growing like a
weed! Stand
still...Let me
take a
measure...
Hm...Just in
case...

BILLY
You want to
see me planted
already?

UNDERTAKER
Well now.
Looks like
you're as tall
as Reverend
Ray. If it
comes down to
it, what do
you prefer?
Pine...or oak?

As Billy (the Player) continues into

town, SUZY, a saloon girl, will step
out on the second floor balcony of the
saloon and call to Billy.

Suzy
Well, Billy
Candle! Ain't
you a sight
for sore eyes!

BILLY
(und
er
his
brea

Suzy...she
keeps a gun in
her drawers...

SUZY
Here in town
and you don't
come see your
old friend,
Suzy?
BILLY
(sho
utin
g to
her)
I just got in!
I was planning
on coming
by...

SuZy
Yeah, right,
Billy's
planning
things now.
Get your
skinny butt up
here 'fore I
change my
mind.

When Billy enters the saloon.

BILLY
(to
hims
elf)
So far so
good. Don't
see no sign of
that fat
S.O.B.
Forrester.

If Billy heads up the stairs to the

second floor.

BiLLY
Uh oh...

CLYDE FORRESTER blocks Billy's path.

He's a big, burly jerk. The brutal
owner of the saloon.

forrester
Billy the
spic! Where
you think
you're going?
Hope you don't
think you're
getting lucky?
Not unless you
got some
money?

BILLY
Relax, Clyde.
I'm just here
to say hello.

Forrester
Your balls'll
be saying
hello to my
boot in a
second, boy.
You wanna
piece of Suzy,
you gotta pay,
muchacho.

If Billy tries to get past Forrester,

he blocks Billy's path.

FORRESTER
No money, no
honey!

Billy (the player) has no choice but to

return to the first floor of the
saloon. If he walks outside, Suzy will
beckon to him from the second floor
balcony.

Suzy
Psst...Billy,
go to the
window around
back.

When Billy walks around the side, he

sees Suzy in a second floor window.

Suzy
Flat busted,
huh? Should of
known. Thought
you were gonna
find the Gold
of Juarez?
Well, maybe
you can find a
rope to get
your ass
through this
window? But
don't raise a
ruckus...

As Suzy leaves the window.

SUZY
I must be outa
my mind...

Billy (the player) needs to find a

rope. A scripted scene points out a
whip on a hitching post near a horse.

If Billy (the Player) takes the whip,

some text will show him how to use it
as a tool to climb.

BiLLY
This whip'll
do just fine.

Billy (the player) uses the whip to

climb into the second floor window
where Suzy is waiting.

BILLY
Hi Suzy.

Suzy
Shh. Wait
here. I`ll be
back in a
minute. I
wanna make
sure Clyde is
occupied. In
the meantime,
why don't you
wash off some
of that trail
dust...

After Suzy leaves.

BILLY
Alright, where
the hell's
that
derringer...

Billy has to quickly search the dresser

drawers for Suzy's derringer.

When he finds it, there's a quick cut

scene with Suzy as she returns.

SUZY
Clyde's
occupied with
Jo Ann, so we
got some time
to get
reacquainted.

BILLY
But we best
keep voices
down, darlin'.

SUZY
So you never
found the
family jewels?
Maybe I can
help?

She kneels down in front of him and

fiddles with something we can't quite
see. (Most likely his button fly.)

Suzy
My...you have
grown.

Just then Clyde Forrester busts in with

two men.

FoRRESTER
Thought I
heard you in
here! You got
an itch that
needs
scratching,
boy? How 'bout
you let old
Clyde take
care of it?

Clyde pulls out a gun and Billy (the

player) has no where to run but back
out the window.

FORRESTER
You're not
getting away
that easy!

As Billy tries to get away, Forrester

steps out on the balcony and shouts to
the town riffraff.

FORRESTER
A half hour
with Suzy for
anybody who
can get his
hands on that
little
greaser!

As Billy tries to run, we hear various

voices from the town scum as they try
to hunt Billy down.

Voices
Where the hell
did he get to?
He has to be
here
somewhere.
Suzy's as good
as mine! I'd
skin that boy
alive for a
taste of that
little
trollop!

If Billy (the player) escapes unscathed

from town, he'll run across on old
cabin.

bILLY
(to
hims
elf)
This is Crazy
Frank's place.
Lost his mind
in the war.
He's half a
bubble off
plumb. Nuttier
than a bedbug.
If someone in
this town has
ammo, it's
Crazy Frank.

FRANK comes out of his house and greets

Billy. He's a hard-looking man in his
sixties.

Frank
Look Lucy!
It's Billy!

There's no woman present. Lucy is the

name Frank has given his rifle.

FraNK
Well boy, did
you find the
gold?

BILLY
There is no
gold...

FRANK
The Gold of
Juarez!

BILLY
It's a fairy
tale, okay. It
don't exist.

FRANK
Right, I get
it. Mum's the
word.

Frank wanders off. Billy has to sneak

into Frank's cabin without getting
caught. If he finds some ammo, Frank
suddenly will appear back in the
doorway with his rifle aimed at Billy's
head.

Frank
You want to
take what's
mine? One more
step and
Lucy'll blow
your head
clean off! Hey
Lucy! What do
we want to do
with this
little thief?
Me and Lucy,
we shot men,
women,
children...So
we sure as
hell can shoot
a lowlife like
you.

If Billy escapes out the window, Frank

shouts after him.

FRANK
We got him on
the run, Lucy!
Look at him
go! (LAUGHS)

BiLLY
Crazy old
coot!

If Billy continues on down the trail, a

ranch house will appear in the
distance.

BILLY
There it
is...The only
home I ever
knew...Bet my
mom's cooking
dinner right
now. Baking
biscuits,
making stew. I
can almost
smell it...

When Billy almost reaches the house,

he'll hear a woman's SCREAM from
inside.

BILLY
(SHOUTING)
Thomas! You
get away from
her, you
bastard! You
hear me! I'LL
KILL YOU!

An artists rendition of Reverend Ray

McCall as he prays in a rustic church.
He's a big man in his early sixties
with the dangerous face of a hired gun,
which is what he once was. But now Ray
wears the collar of a cleric. He has a
southern accent and you can hear the
pain and anger in his deep, resonant
voice.

Ray (V.O.)
Oh Lord...It
is on this
Sabbath day,
in this empty
church, that I
pray to thee.
What am I to
do to not lose
faith in the
people of this
town? Please,
God, give me
the strength
to lead these
sinners to
righteousness.
Last night the
demons of my
past visited
me in a
nightmare.
What are you
trying to tell
me, Lord? That
the citizens
of Hope are
descending
into darkness,
just as I was
once, trapped
in the shadows
of Satan's
embrace? I
personally
invited every
lost soul in
town to
today's
service. I
will bring
them your
word. I will
show them the
way.

INT. CHURCH - DAY

A scattering of worshipers fill the

pews as Reverend Ray (the Player) makes
his way to the pulpit. There's a bible
there and Ray picks it up and begins
his service.

Reverend ray
It is indeed
disappointing
that your
fellow
citizens
prefer the
pleasures of
the flesh to
the spiritual
salvation
offered by
this
sanctuary. In
vain has the
voice from
Heaven said of
the whore of
Babylon,
''Come forth,
my people, out
of here, that
ye have no
fellowship
with her sins,
and that ye
receive not of
her plagues.'

Clyde Forrester, in the second row,

talks back to Reverend Ray.

FoRRESTER
And what
exactly would
they be
receiving
here, padre?
Insults?
Rebukes?
Life's too
damn short to
spend it
listening to
self-righteous
sons of
bitches like
you. A free
round of
drinks for
anybody who
wants to
follow me back
to my saloon!

REVEREND RAY
Clyde
Forrester, is
that what you
came here for?
How dare you
turn my flock
away from the
light!

FORRESTER
If it wasn't
for sinners
like me, you'd
be out of a
job, padre.
You can't save
'em, if I
don't tempt
'em...

REVEREND RAY
Enough, you
snake! Get out
of my sight!

FORRESTER
I know all
about you,
'father', so
don't go
getting all
high and
mighty with
me. You're no
better then
a--

REVEREND RAY
Get out of
this
sanctuary!

Forrester leaves and Ray continues his

service.

ReVEREND RAY
'Lo, I come
quickly,'
sayeth the
Lord, 'And my
reward is with
me, to render
each as his
work shall
be!'

The back doors burst open and a woman

rushes in.

Woman
Reverend!
Reverend Ray!
I heard
gunshots at
your brother's
farm!

REVEREND RAY
What?

A churchgoer pipes up.

Churchgoer
I saw Billy in
town before!
Saw him going
into the
saloon!

Ray runs from the church and heads for

his brother's farm.

It's a distance out of town and when he

gets there he finds his brother and
sister-in-law murdered, laying in the
dirt. The words, "Call of Juarez" are
written on the barn door in blood.

Billy stands stunned over their dead

bodies.

ReVEREND RAY
Call of
Juarez?
Billy!!! What
did you do?

Billy panics and runs and Ray (the

player) pursues him.

Through the burning barn and out the

back, up a trail, towards a rope bridge
that spans a canyon.

From the other side, Billy cuts the

ropes and the bridge tumbles into the
river.

Reverend Ray watches as Billy

disappears into the woods and shouts
after him.

ReVEREND RAY
BILLY! WHAT
HAVE YOU DONE,
BOY! For the
love of God,
what have you
done?
(to
hims
elf)
I better get
Tim.

Reverend Ray (the player) heads back

towards his brother's ranch. Three of
the town lowlifes are looting his
brother's house.

REVEREND RAY
These hyenas
have no
respect for
anything.
They're no
better than
dogs...
(sho
utin
g to
the
men)
HAVE YOU NO
SHAME?!

One of the lowlifes looks up in

surprise.

Lowlife 1
Reverend Ray?
I came when I
heard the
gunshots...We.
..We need to
get the
sheriff...

REVEREND RAY
How dare you
steal from the
dead.

LOWLIFE 2
What the hell
do they need
it for?!
Besides, half
the town is
going to be
all over this
place in two
shakes!

REVEREND RAY
Get out of
here! Out!

LOWLIFE 3
Or what? You
gonna send me
to hell? Clyde
says you're
hardly a man
of God! He
says--

REVEREND RAY
Enough!
LOWLIFE 3
Damn preacher!

LoWLIFE 1
I'm gonna kick
your ass!

Ray (the player) fights all three of

lowlifes and drives them off. One lays
unconscious on the ground.

ReVEREND RAY
For twenty
years I
followed the
light and
denounced the
darkness. Day
in and day
out, I labored
to save lost
souls. All for
you, Lord. So
why have you
forsaken me?
How could you
let this
happen? Help
me, Lord.
Please. Tell
me...What do
you want from
me?

END OF EPISODE TWO

EPISODE THREE LOADING SCREEN

An artists Rendition of a furious

Reverend Ray, his black hat tilted over
his eyes, a six gun in his hand.

RevEREND RAY
(V.O.)
That bastard
child's been a
burden on this
Earth since
the day he was
born.
Shiftless no
account
coward. How
dare he end a
life as
righteous as
my brother's!
If I could I
would kill
him. Lord, is
that what you
want from me?
To be your
sword? I've
spent twenty
years
preaching to
hyenas and
wolves, but
maybe there
are some who
are beyond
redemption. Is
that what
you're telling
me? To destroy
those who
cannot be
saved? If that
is what you
want, then
that is how I
will serve
you. 'And I
will execute
great
vengeance upon
them with
furious
rebukes; and
they shall
know that I am
Jehovah, when
I lay my
punishment
upon them!'

Int. Church - day

Reverend Ray finds his old six shooters

in a trunk in a church closet.

ReVEREND RAY
It's time to
dust off some
old
compadres...

He picks them up and feels their heft.

ReVEREND RAY
Haven't laid
eyes on these
equalizers in
twenty years.
How many lives
did they take?
No matter.
This time they
won't be tools
of Satan. This
time, we'll
guided by the
light of the
Lord.

Ray opens the doors to the church and

steps outside. The Sheriff is there
with a mob of men. They see the guns in
Ray's hands.

TIM POWELL
What are you
up to,
Reverend?
REVEREND RAY
I'm going to
find Billy.

TIM POWELL
You're not the
law, Ray. You
need to let
the law handle
this.

REVEREND RAY
I represent a
higher law.
God's law.

TIM POWELL
Ray, just
listen to me--

REVEREND RAY
And I heard a
great voice
out of the
temple, saying
to the seven
angels, go and
pour out the
seven bowls of
the fury of
God upon the
earth!

TIM POWELL
Ray, you're
not going no
where. Give me
those hog
legs!

Man one
That's right!
Lock him up,
Tim! Man's a
menace!
The crowd mumbles their approval.

TIM POWELL
Enough! I'll
lock all of
you up if you
don't shut yer
yaps!!
(tur
ning
back
to
Ray)
Give me your
weapons,
McCall. Don't
make me...

Someone one in the crowd shoots Tim in

the back and everyone panics, running
off down the hill into town.

Ray follows after them as the townsfolk

locks themselves in their houses.
Forrester's men yells out--

MAN ONE
We'll be
waiting for ya
in the Saloon,
preacher!

As the player (Reverend Ray) walks into

town, he quotes the good book so all
can here.

ReVEREND RAY
Without are
the dogs, and
the sorcerers,
and the
fornicators,
and the
murderers, and
the idolaters,
and every one
that loveth
and maketh a
lie.'

When he reaches the main street of

town, four gunslingers walk out to
confront him. They seem arrogant,
amused, and not too concerned.

Gunslinger
What now,
padre?

Ray (the player) has to face down all

four and some text explains how to
operate in concentration mode, which
slows down all the action and allows
the player to wield both pistols
simultaneously.

When the enemies are dead, Ray hears a

woman's terrified SCREAM from a second
floor window.

hombre

Since your old

the livin', I
thought maybe
you might be

Mrs. Powell

Preacher, help
me!
Preacher!!!

The player (as Reverend Ray) has to

figure out how to save the sheriff's
wife, Mrs. Powell.

A couple of gunmen have to be dealt

with before he finds Mrs. Powell in the
second floor room, being terrorized by
two hombres.

Once Ray (the player) has dispatched

them, Mrs. Powell gets to her feet.

Mrs. POWELL
Reverend,
why'd you stir
'em up like
that? You got
'em all crazy
and now they
killed my Tim.
They're
heading for
jail to free
their
friends...and
get more guns.
Here – take
this key. Now
that Tim's
gone you're
the only
chance we
have.

Ray leaves Mrs. Powell and makes his

way to the jail, dispatching quite a
few gunslingers as he works his way up
the street.

As he approaches the sheriff's office,

the doors are blown off their hinges by
a large explosion. The out of control
mob of outlaws free their friends from
jail.

Ray fights his way inside the sheriff's

office. Once inside, the door is bolted
shut behind him and he hears a mean son
of a bitch shouting to him from the
street.

Mean son of a
bitch
Always trying
to scare us
with hellfire!
How 'bout we
give you a
taste?!

Mean SON OF A
BITCH's friend
BURRRRNNNNNNNN
!!!

The building is set on fire and the

door is locked tight. The player (Ray)
has to figure out how to escape. The
only way out is through a trap door on
the second floor that leads to the
roof.

Once on the roof, a couple of planks

lead into the hay loft of an old barn.

Ray must make his way from the barn and

back through the town, where more of
Forrester's men try to take him down.

If he takes them all out, he'll find

himself in front of the saloon.

Clyde Forrester steps out on a second

floor balcony and shouts down to
Reverend Ray.

FORRESTER
I knew this
day would
come, padre. I
knew that one
day you'd show
this town your
true colors.
You think
you're better
than me? We're
two sides of
the same coin,
Ray. I'm glad
you're finally
here, because
today is the
last time you
get in my way!

Forrester orders his men to murder the

Reverend. They fire at him from windows
and atop the saloon. If Ray sets the
saloon on fire, he can drive Forrester
and his men into the street, where he
can take them out, one at a time.

Finally, Forrester himself comes

through the swinging doors of the
burning building.

FoRRESTER
You're no man
of God! I know
what you are!
And I know who
you were!

ReVEREND RAY
And there was
given to the
beast a mouth
saying great
lies and
blasphemies!

FORRESTER
You
self-righteous
son of a
whore! You
think heaven
wants anything
to do with
you? You're
going to hell
and I'm gonna
send you
there!

Text comes up describing how "showdown"

mode works. The player (as Ray) has to
beat Forrester in a gunfight.

If the player succeeds, Forrester lays

in the street, lit up the flames of his
burning saloon.

REVEREND RAY
Babylon the
great has
fallen, for
all nations
have drunk of
the wine of
the wrath of
her
fornication.

Ray shouts to the people of the town.

ReVEREND RAY
Today is the
holy seventh
day! You
didn't want to
come to the
Lord, so he
sent down upon
you the fire
and a heavenly
sword. Take
heed of what I
say! For if
you won't
listen, 'It
shall be more
tolerable for
the land of
Sodom and
Gomorrah in
the day of
judgment, than
for this town!

As he looks upon Forrester's body.

REVEREND RAY
The Lord has
made me his
right hand.
His judge, his
jury, and his
executioner.
So Billy,
beware boy. I
bring the
wrath of God.

EPISODE 4 LOADING SCREEN

An artist's rendition of Billy on the

run, on a cliff, bullwhip in hand.

Billy (V.O.)
Gotta run.
Don't matter
if I killed
somebody or
not - they'll
hang me
anyway. I can
hear the
hound's...
Jesus Christ,
get a grip on
yourself!
Mexico would
be the safest
bet, but...the
road leads
straight
through
Juarez. I'd
have to be
crazy to go
anywhere near
that place.
But wait, what
about that
mine near
Blackriver? A
train passes
right by
there. I could
jump on it and
hitch a ride
to San Jose.
Molly's there.
The one person
in the world I
can trust.

EXT. ESCARPMENT - NIGHT

It's night and Billy stands on a cliff

over looking a river.

BILLY
This place
looks
familiar. If
the train
comes by on
the left, I'll
know for sure
where I am.
A train down below in the distance
roars through the night.

BILLY
There it
is...okay got
some time
before the
next one comes
by.

If Billy turns towards the entrance to

the mine far below.

BILLY
There's the
bridge and the
entrance to
the mine.
About a mile
to go. Maybe I
can make it
before the
storm.

Billy (the player) has to make his way

down the cliff to the mine entrance far
below.

Along the way, he finds a dead Native

American, a bow, and a quiver of
arrows.

Then hears voices as he approaches a

campfire.

Texas Guy
I am freezing
my ass off.

southern guy
That's 'cause
all you're
doing is
sitting on it.
Texas guy
He told us to
wait here, so
that's what
I'm doing...

If the player gets too close and is

heard.

southern GUY
Hold on?

TEXAS GUY
What?

southern GUY
Shut the hell
up, I heard
something.

TEXAS GUY
Probably just
the wind...

If the player is seen, he needs to

fight his way his past the outlaws. If
he uses stealth to sneak by, he'll hear
the rest of their conversation.

southern GUY
Storm's coming
in...

TEXAS GUY
I can see the
lightning...

SOUTHERN GUY
Remember that
storm in '67?
A bolt of
lightning
struck
Rodriguez and
fried the son
of a bitch to
a crisp.

TEXAS GUY
Do you ever
shut up?

SOUTHERN GUY
Look at that
lightning.
It's gonna hit
a tree and set
this whole
forest on
fire!

TEXAS GUY
I'm going to
hit you in the
huevos if you
don't shut the
hell up.

SOUTHERN GUY
Whole damn
forest....

TEXAS GUY
... shut it.

Another man approaches the campfire.

Ned
Hey, Cox.

southERN GUY
Something
wrong, boss?

NED
You got good
eyes. You see
the train? We
should be able
to see it by
now.
souTHERN GUY
I`m coming...
(to
his
comp
adre
)
Hey, don't go
falling
asleep! You'll
get hit by a
lightning and
end up like
Rodriguez...

The Southern Guy walks off with Ned and

the player can scavenge stuff from the
campsite as long as the Texas Guy
continues to sleep.

If the player makes it past, he'll

reach guy pissing behind a bush.

Drunk
And then he
said...you
know what he
said? That I`m
cheatin` And I
looked at that
turd and I
said, 'Huh?'
Like I don't
have no clue.
And you know
what I told
him, Eli? I
said...Eli?
Eli! Where the
hell did you
get to?

If Billy (the player) can sneak past,

eventually he'll come upon another
group of men sitting around a campfire.
If he gets past without being caught,
he'll hear...

Hombre
Jesus Christ,
It's colder
than a witch's
tit out here.
Why aren't we
in the mine,
anyway?

Mexican guy
Cause it's all
coming down in
there... You
want to end up
like O`Neil?

HOMBRE
O'Neil worked
in the mine?

MexICAN GUY
No, but he got
whacked in the
head with a
two by four
and ended up a
moron.

HOMBRE
He was always
a moron...

As he sneaks through the bandit camp

and isn't caught, the player will
continue to hear snatches of
conversation.

Hombre 2
What is that
stench?

Mexican guy 2
Scanlon's so
scared he
pissed his
pants.

HOMBRE 2
You piss your
pants?

Scanlon
No.

Hombre 2
Then where the
hell is that
smell coming
from?

Mexican guy 2
Did someone
take just take
a leak?

HOMBRE 2
You think they
could take a
longer walk
before they
relieved
themselves.

MEXICAN GUY 2
A longer walk
where? Out in
the woods? I
don't want
some coyote
biting off my
nut sack.

HOMBRE 2
How would a
coyote even
find your tiny
little nut
sack?
If the player manages to sneak through
another tunnel without being seen,
he'll come upon one more campfire.

SouTHERN GUY
BOSS!

NED
What's wrong?

SOUTHERN GUY
This bridge
might not hold
up.

NED
Damn
it...Right,
fetch the
ropes.

After Ned walks away.

SOUTHERN GUY
Can you see
the train?

Cowboy
I can't see a
damn thing.

SOUTHERN GUY
I hope Ned
knows what
he's doing.
This stick up
better be
worth it.

BILLY
(to
hims
elf)
Stick up? Son
of a
bitch...These
hombres are
outlaws...

Billy continues to make his way through

the camp, all the way to where the
train runs by the mine.

BillY
I made it...
Alright...All
I have to do
now is to wait
for the train.

But just then some of the outlaws come

out of the mine and see Billy by the
tracks.

BILLY
But how do I
stop these
hombres? It's
too late to go
back
now...Guess
I'll just have
to hold 'em
back the best
I can...

Billy has to fight the outlaws with his

scavenged bow and arrows and any pistol
or rifle he managed to pick up.

If he holds out long enough, he'll hear

gunshots from in the mine and see
Reverend Ray coming out of the
darkness.

Luckily, the train comes by at the very

moment and Billy can jump aboard,
escaping Ray's wrath.

EPISODE FIVE LOADING SCREEN

An artist's rendition of Ray, a gun in

each hand, darkness behind him as light
from a campfire illuminates his grim
countenance.

ReVEREND RAY
(v.O.)
The storm is
coming. I can
hear the
thunder. Dark
days for
humankind are
drawing near,
'For the great
day of his
wrath has
come; and who
shall be able
to stand? I am
your sword
now, oh Lord,
and your will
will be done.
Been chasing
that boy for
days now. Took
me some time
to find his
trail, because
he didn't run
for the border
as I was sure
he would.
Instead he
headed west.
He's probably
sittin' out
the storm in
the Blackriver
mine. Years
ago, I did the
same. I know
every inch of
those tunnels
and if he's
down there,
then I will
find him.

Ext. The blackriver mine - night

Ray approaches the mine. The player

(Ray) has to take out a man guarding
the entrance.

When he walks into the darkness, the

walls are lit with flickering torches.
He can hear echoing voices.

Outlaw one
Can't see a
damn thing
from inside
this tunnel.
Train'll go by
and we won't
even know it.

Outlaw two
Better here
than outside
in that storm.
That damn wind
cuts you right
to the bone.

OUTLAW ONE
...and then
Ned'll get all
pissed off
that we let
the goddamn
train go by
and cut
somebody's
guts out. Mine
most likely...

OUTLAW TWO
Best you worry
about the
guards, not
Ned. They're
stone cold
killers armed
to the teeth.

OUTLAW ONE
We got 'em out
numbered and
out gunned...

OUTLAW TWO
Unless half of
us freeze to
death waitin'
on that
goddamn
train...

ReveREND RAY
(to
hims
elf)
So they're
outlaws...
'And when they
have finished
their
testimony, the
beast that
cometh up out
of the abyss
shall make war
with them, and
overcome them,
and kill
them!'

The player (as Reverend Ray, who's not

exactly the stealthy type) attacks and
dispatches the outlaws.

He then heads deeper into the mine. He

fights his way past quite a few more
outlaws and explores the entire mine,
riding mining carts and climbing
ladders to higher and higher levels,
battling outlaws every step of the way.

At one point he locks eyes with Ned

across a chasm.

Ned
I thought men
of God were
men of peace,
padre. For a
preacher, you
sure don't
seem too damn
peaceful...

Ned disappears and his men continue to

try to take Ray out as he works his way
through the mine.

Finally, he comes out the mine entrance

by the train tracks and sees Billy
fighting off the hombres. Ray takes out
the men trying to kill him just the
train races by. Billy hops atop it,
disappearing into the night.

REVEREND RAY
That little
bastard...he
got away...

Ray starts down the tracks after the

train and comes upon Ned.

NeD
All my men are
dead. You
couldn't have
done it all by
yourself.
That's just
not
possible...

REVEREND RAY
For all they
that take the
sword shall
perish by the
sword.

NED
They call me
Ned the
Plague,
because I
bring death
wherever I go.
What I want to
know is...who
the hell are
you?

REVEREND RAY
I am the right
hand of God!

NED
I don't care
who's hand
your are! Fill
it, you son of
a bitch!

Ray has a showdown with Ned and if he

wins, he'll approach Ned who's lays
bleeding on the tracks.

Ned
Preacher...
Hey, can you
hear me? Will
you absolve a
kindred
soul... the
soul...of a
murderer?

ReVEREND RAY
The Lord can
hear you.
Speak your
mind, son...

NED
I... The train
will be
robbed... On
the bridge...
They'll blow
up the
track...
Hurry...

Artist's rendition of Reverend Ray, gun

in one hand, bible in the other.

REVEREND RAY
(V.O.)
Yea, though I
walk through
the valley of
the shadow of
death, I will
fear no evil;
for thou art
with me, thy
rod and thy
staff, they
comfort me...
Let all those
who carry the
mark of the
beast cower in
terror! For I
will come for
them as I
follow the
murderer's
trail. Are you
there, Billy
Candle? Are
you there, you
son of the
Devil? I`m
coming for
you, and I
bring hell
unto thee!

EXT. TRAIN TUNNEL - DAWN

Reverend Ray moves towards the light

through a dark train tunnel. As he gets
to the end, he sees a wounded soldier,
sitting against the wall.

Wounded soldier
The train -
we're fending
them off, but
we won't hold
much longer...

RAY
Did you seen a
man on the
roof of the
train?

WOUNDED SOLDIER
Get....
Help...

The soldier dies and Ray hears voices

from outside the tunnel.

Bandit 1
Where you at
soldier? We
won't hurt
ya...

Bandit 2
We just want
your jacket!

BaNDIT 3
Yep and those
boots of yours
too!

As Ray ventures out, he sees the

bandits.

BANDIT 2
Who the hell's
that?

BandIT 1
Kill him!

If Ray (the player) kills one of the

bandits, the others run off, shouting

BANDIT 2
You'll pay for
this you son
of a bitch!!!
It's the
law!!! The
law's
coming!!!

Reverend Ray (the player) fights his

way up a trail, around the other side
and high above the tracks.

Along the way, he hears the taunts of

bandits.

Bandit 4
It's some kind
of preacher!

Bandit 5
Here's some
lead for your
collection
plate, padre!

Ray can see that train is trapped and

under assault by bandits.

Ray
They blocked
them at the
bridge...

Ray has to fight his way into the

train, where inside there are more
robbers to contend with.

Bandit 6
All aboard for
a one way trip
hell!

Bandit 7
I'll punch
your ticket
for ya,
father!

Various frightened passengers engage

him as he moves his way through the
train.

Female passenger
Sir! Save us
please!

Male passenger
I don't have
anything more.
I gave 'em
everything.

Male passenger 2
Take my money,
take it all!
Just don't
kill me!

Female passenger
2
This is the
last time I'm
taking the
train…

Ray battles past all the outlaws,

finally coming upon a bandit on a
flatcar, blasting away with a gatling
gun.

If he dispatches with that one, Ray can

use the gatling gun to take out a dozen
more outlaws. If Ray makes inside the
last train car, he hears shouts.

SOLDIER 1
They're coming
through the
back!

Soldier 2
KILL 'EM!

Guns boom and bullets ricochet and over

the racket, an Officer shouts--

OFFICER
HOLD YOUR
FIRE!

SOLDIER 1
It's a
preacher!
Don't shoot!

As Ray moves through the train...

Soldier 2
Hey, father
come on in!

SOLDIER 2
Talk with the
lieutenant.
He's at the
end of the
carriage.

Ray makes his way to the officer.

Lieutenant
Lieutenant
Matthew
Parker, sir.
We tried to
smash through,
but those sons
of bitches are
taking us out
like tin ducks
in a shootin'
gallery. They
set up a
barricade
outside. I
sent some men
with a powder
keg to blow it
all to hell.

Ray
They're dead.

LIEUTENANT
Dead?

RAY
I'll take the
keg and blow
up the
barricade. You
secure the
carriages.

LIEUTENANT
All right,
I'll send two
men to cover
ya. Smith!
Cole! Get your
asses on that
hilltop and
make some
noise. We're
counting on
you, father...

Ray (the player) must blow up the

barricade and take out the bandits.

The player must then work his way back

to the train, which is stopped halfway
across a high trestle bridge.

If Ray (the player) goes inside the

train and tries to reach the
locomotive, he'll find that last door
is locked.

A wounded soldier grabs Ray's arm.

Wounded sniper
There's a
barricade...
Outside... It
separates the
passengers
from the
soldiers...

RAY
Can't I just
shoot it open?

WOUNDED SNIPER
Yeah, from the
outside. You
just shoot the
bar off the
door.

RAY
How do I do
that? We're on
a bridge?

WOUNDED SNIPER
You can do
it...Just
listen...
There's a rock
ledge on the
right hand
side, and
you'll have a
clear shot at
the train from
there. Take...
Shoot that
damn bar.

The wounded offers Ray his scoped

rifle. Ray (the player) follows the
path the wounded sniper described,
fights his way past some outlaws, and
shoots of the bar that blocks the door.
From there hey can work his way back
into the train.

The last door is now unlocked. A ladder

leads to the roof of the train.

A bandit has a female passenger hostage

and is threatening to shoot her.

Ray (the player) must quick draw and

takes the bandit out. The woman falls
and hangs from the roof of the train,
dangling over the river below.

Ray (the player) must save her and if

he does...

Woman hostage
Thank you,
father.

Now he can make his way to the

engineer.
RaY
Are you
alright?

Engineer
The bastards
took out the
tracks on the
bridge. It's a
hard turn, so
we always slow
down there...

Ray
Did you seen
anyone on the
roof before
the attack?

ENGINEER
On the roof?
Yeah. The
soldiers went
up after him
and started
shooting...
and then we
drove into the
tunnel.

RAY
What happened
to him? The
fella on the
roof?

ENGINEER
He ran away, I
think he was
wounded...Look
ed like he was
heading south.
There's farms
not two miles
from here.
RAY
The sinner I'm
after has
already
slaughtered
one farm
family. I need
to bring him
to justice.

Ray starts to go.

ENGINEER
You're leaving
us? What if
those outlaws
come back?
We've got the
payroll for
the whole damn
railroad in
here! Stay!
You'll get a
reward. Gold!

RAY
Gold? 'For the
love of money
is the root of
all evil: and
some whose
hearts were
fixed on it
have been
turned away
from the
faith, and
been wounded
with
unnumbered
sorrows.'

ENGINEER
They'll be
asking about
you... What do
you want me to
say?

RAY
Tell them
that...I
am...a
missionary.

We hear a voice shouting from the

tracks just ahead.

Bandit boss
Hey!
Preacher!!!
You hear me?!
Preacher, you
haven't
finished your
work yet!
Listen,
there's a lot
of money here,
we can split
it up,
alright? You
killed a hell
of a lot of
men today! You
ain't that
much of a
saint, are ya?

RAY
At the wrath
of the Lord
the land
quakes, and
the people are
like fuel for
fire!

BANDIT BOSS
I think you
just want it
all for
yourself, old
man. Over my
dead body, you
hear? We'll
settle this
together!!!
Here and
now!!!

Ray (the player) has a showdown with

the Bandit Boss.

LOADING SCREEN FOR EPISODE SEVEN

An artists rendition of Billy Candle,

fists up, ready to fight.

Billy (V.O.)
That was Ray!
Reverend
Ray...Looking
at me like
death hisself.
He is crazy.
That asshole
won't rest
until I am
dead and
buried. Gotta
find a horse,
or he'll catch
up with me.
It's still a
few miles to
the ranch, and
I think I
sprained my
damn ankle...
The soldiers
almost had me.
Wouldn't of
gotten away at
all if all
hell hadn't
broken loose.
Gotta find
Molly.
Molly'll
believe me.

EXT. MOUNTAIN TRAIL - DAY

Billy heads down a rough trail next to

a rushing stream.

Billy (V.O.)
Her dad won't
though.
Ferguson hired
me to work his
spread and
fired me when
he found out
what was going
on between me
and his
precious
daughter.
Guess he
didn't like
the idea of a
Mexican in the
family...

Billy (the player) continues to make

his way.

Billy (V.O.)
It's not like
he's so damn
pure. Man
don't get that
much land
without
stepping on
some toes. Saw
him dealing
with all sorts
of unsavory
characters...

Billy has to contend with a pack of

wolves, which he fights off with his
whip.

BILLY (V.O.)
Just a few
more miles and
I'll be seeing
be her pretty
face. She
didn't judge
me and I
didn't judge
her. We just
saw each other
for who we
were. Not her
father,
though. He
just couldn't
get past the
color of my
skin.

The trail ends at a broken bridge.

Billy can see a small ranch the other
direction.

BILLY
That ranch
looks like a
damn fort. Is
this Indian
country?

Billy approaches and walks in the front

gate. A RANCHER with a shotgun shouts
to him from his front porch.

Rancher
What do you
want?! Are you
alone?

BILLY
I just...I
just wanted to
ask for water.

RANCHER
There's a
stream not a
hundred yards
from here.

BILLY
Sir--

RANCHER
Get out of
here or I'll
put a few
holes in you!

BILLY
Fine...settle
down...

RANCHER
If I see you
again, I'll
shoot you down
like a dog!
You hear me!?

If Billy tries to sneak back in and is

caught.

Rancher
I told you
already! Get
the hell off
my land!

If Billy is caught again.

RANCHER
Are you deaf
or just
stupid? You
come back here
again and I'll
kill ya!

Billy has to sneak onto the ranch and

find a horse he can steal. As he creeps
around, he can hear the rancher talking
to himself.

RANCHER
Where the hell
is that wife
of mine? Where
is she? It
don't take
this long to
pick dandelion
greens...Stupi
d
woman...Laura!
LAURA!

IF Billy manages to steal the horse,

the Rancher starts shooting at him.

RANCHER
Damn horse
thief! Come
back here!

Billy has to jump the gap in the broken

bridge to get away.

Eventually, he'll come to a spot where

the trail has fallen away. He can't
take the horse, but he can use his whip
to grab onto tree branches and swing to
the other side.

He sees smoke ahead and finds a couple

or renegade Apaches sitting around a
campfire. A wagon has been overturned
and ransacked. A woman lays dead on the
ground.

BILLY
Apaches?
Renegades
probably...

Billy can either steal one of the

Apache's horses, spook the other ones
to make his escape or he can attack the
renegades directly.

Eventually, Billy (the player) will

come across a few more bands of
renegades that he can either sneak past
or attack.

After a fairly long journey, requiring

some hair-raising horse jumping, he'll
eventually come to Molly's ranch.

Billy
Alright, this
is going to be
tough: can't
let anyone see
me. Otherwise
I'm gonna get
a very
unfriendly
welcome...

As Billy sneaks into the ranch, we hear

an internal monologue.

BILLY (v.O.)
Chat was the
ranch foreman
and Ferguson's
lacky. He was
always hitting
on Molly and
didn't like
the fact that
she had eyes
for me.

Billy sneaks further.

BILLY (V.O.)
One day, he
saw us behind
the stables
and ran to
Ferguson. I
only ever
kissed her.
Never did
nothing else,
but her old
man didn't
care. He was
fit to be
tied. He fired
my ass and
told Chat to
escort off me
off the
property.
Those guys
threw me a
'goodbye'
party. They
beat the tar
out of me,
tied me to
horse, and
dragged me
half a mile.
Chat told me
that if I ever
laid eyes on
Molly again,
he'd cut 'em
right out of
my head. So I
don't think I
better run
into those
fellars...

Billy sneaks into a huge barn and

overhears some cowboys as he creeps
across the hay loft.

Cowboy 1
Hurricane had
to be locked
up again.

Cowboy 2
That horse is
loco.

COWBOY 1
A widow-maker.

Boards break and Billy falls right into

Hurricane's stall. If he gets out
alive, he can hear the cowboy's
outside.

COWBOY 1
Hurricane's
all riled up
again.

COWBOY 2
Don't take
much. The
horse has a
temper as bad
as Chat's...

Billy (the player) will overhear

another conversation as he makes his
way to the main house.

CowBOY 1
Hey, Ed, have
you been to
'The Palace'
yet?

COWBOY 2
Yup...

COWBOY 1
Have you seen
that new
whore?
Trixie...

COWBOY 2
Biggest
knockers north
of the Rio
Grande...

COWBOY 1
I'm taking
this week's
pay and
getting myself
some of that.
Haven't had my
ashes hauled
in a coon's
age...

COWBOY 2
If I were you
I'd wear a
raincoat.
Everyone's
having their
turn with that
strumpet. Even
Dirty Dave...

COWBOY 1
Dirty Dave?
Son of bitch
hasn't had a
bath since
Grant marched
into Richmond.

Billy (the player) sneaks into the main

house and when he gets to the second
floor, he hears footsteps behind him.

When he turns, he finds Chat

approaching with two other cowhands.
Chat's a big, rawboned man in his late
twenties.

Chat
Boy, you got
some huevos
coming back
here...

BILLY
Chat, I don't
have no
quarrel with
you. I'm just
here to see
Molly.

CHAT
Fine. Let's
settle this
then. A fair
fight. If you
win, she's all
yours. If you
don't...

BILLY
I don't want
to fight. I
just need to
see Molly.

CHAT
Then fight me,
you
lily-livered
son of a
bitch. If you
win, the
boys'll leave
you be. But
that's the
only way in
hell you're
gonna see her.

Billy (the player) has to beat Chat in

a fist fight. If he can knock Chat on
his ass, a door opens and Molly comes
rushing out. She's a pretty blonde of
nineteen.

Molly
Stop it! Chat!

CHAT
We've got
unfinished
business here.

MOLLY
We need to
talk. Leave!
The lot of
you!

CHAT
Molly!

MOLLY
Leave! Please.

When Chat and his men reluctantly go.

MoLLY
Billy, what
are you doing
here?

Billy
My parent are
dead!
Murdered. And
everybody
thinks I did
it...

MOLLY
Murdered?

BILLY
They were dead
when I got
there.
Slaughtered.
My ma was
laying there
all...And then
the Reverend
came and saw
me and
everyone
started
shooting, so I
ran.

MOLLY
What do you
want me to do?

BILLY
H-Help me.

MOLLY
How? What can
I do? Billy,
you shouldn't
a run. You
should told
'em the truth.

BILLY
You think
they'd believe
me? They made
up their minds
and nothing I
can say is
ever gonna
change that.

MOLLY
You don't know
that. You
gotta trust
yourself a
little bit.
You gotta
trust that
others are
gonna see the
good in you.

Suddenly, Molly's dad, Mr. Ferguson

appears with Chat and a whole
contingent of cowboys.

Ferguson
What the hell
are you doing
back here?

EXT. FERGUSON RANCH - DAY

Billy is dragged outside by the cowboys

as Ferguson looks on. Molly gets in her
father's face.

MoLLY
Dad, stop it!
You always
taught me that
the only
important
thing about a
person is
what's in his
heart. Well,
I'm in Billy's
heart and he's
in mine and if
you care about
me at all, you
will leave him
be.

Ferguson sighs.

FerGUSON
Alright....Let
him go!

He turns to Billy (the player).

FerGUSON
The only
reason you're
walking out of
here alive is
because of my
daughter. But
Billy, I swear
to God, if I
ever see you
again, I will
take your
life. Now you
get the hell
out of here
and you never
come back.

Chat
You're letting
him go?

FERGUSON
Shut up, Chat.
You got no say
in this.

Suddenly, there are gun shots as a

contingent of Texas Rangers come
charging into the ranch, guns blazing.

Leading the charge is Reverend Ray

himself.

blur.

RAY (V.O.)
I see the
angels of
death. They're
gazing down
upon me. They
must be
guiding me,
because I
found the
boy's trail
swiftly. He's
heading
towards
inhabited
areas. He must
be in despair.
He has to know
the end is
near. By his
tracks I can
see he's
limping, hurt.
Wounded and
armed -
dangerous
indeed. I must
make haste. No
time to rest.

Ext. Mountain pass - day

Ray heads up a trail. He sees renegade

Apaches in the hills above.

RaY
Angels of
Death.

As he climbs up into the hills.

RaY
Heathens...
fallen angels,
Satan's
children! Are
they here to
protect him?

Ray has to fight his way past the

renegades. Up and over a towering
mountain trail. Eventually, he'll come
down the other side and reach some
rocks not far from the Ferguson Ranch.

Four hard-looking men in leather

dusters, all wearing badges, will block
his way.

Ty stewart
Hold on there!
Who the hell
are you?

RAY
I'm the Lord's
wrath and in
my hand I
carry his
sword.

The men all glance at each other like

"what the hell is his problem."

RaY
I'm looking
for a young
boy named
Billy.

Ty STEWART
Billy Candle?
You looking
for--

Another older, man cuts Ty Stewart off.

Manson
I'm Tom
Manson. This
here is Ty
Stewart, and
these are the
McClyde
brothers.
We're Texas
Rangers. And
we got a
warrant out
for the boy's
arrest.

Stewart grins.

TY STEWART
That's
right...

mansoN
We believe
he's there on
that ranch,
working with a
gang of
rustlers led
by a man name
of Ferguson.
We're right
about to bring
some hell down
on 'em.

Mcclyde 1
I hear
Ferguson has a
girl. Young
and pretty
and--

Manson
Shut it,
McClyde.
Padre, if you
know how to
use them hog
legs, we can
use any help
we can get.

RAY
Let's move.
Just don't get
in my way.

As they head for the ranch.

Ty STEWART
I heard tell
of a man who
wore armor
like yours.
They said that
seeing him was
like looking
into death's
very eyes. He
wasn't a man
of God though.
Quite the
opposite, so
by now he's
probably
playing poker
with the
devil.

They attack the ranch and a gunfight

ensues.

Manson
Padre! Try to
sneak around
back! We'll
divert their
attention!

Ray fights his way around to the rear

of the ranch house and kicks down the
back door.

Manson and his men come rushing in from

the front.

Manson
Don't move!
Drop your
weapons!

Ferguson drops his gun as Ray (the

player) gets in his face.

RaY
Where's Billy?

McLYDE 1
I saw him run
upstairs.

Manson
Right, I got
these
S.O.B.'s, you
get the boy.

Ray hurries upstairs and sees Billy run

down the end of the hall. He leaps out
a window and Ray looks out to see him
running into a barn.

Ray jumps down to the back porch and

hurries after Billy. The barn is in
flames and horses come running out.

Ray has to avoid being trampled by the

frightened horses.

When he steps into the barn he finds

himself face to face with Chat and some
of his men.

They pull their guns on him and Ray has

to fight his way past them.

When Ray reaches the other side of the

barn, he catches sight of Billy
disappearing into a cornfield.
Ray (the player) pursues him and we can
hear Billy's frightened voice.

Billy
Ray, Ray,
listen!
Ray!!!! I
didn't kill
them, you hear
me?!

As Ray tries to run him down.

BillY
Ray, I swear
to God, I
didn't kill
them!

RaY
And I will
punish the
world for
their evil,
and the wicked
for their
iniquity.

Billy reaches the other side of the

corn field and steals a horse.

Ray (the player) has to knock a cowboy

off his horse, climb into the saddle
and chase after.

If Ray doesn't lose Billy, he'll find

Billy's horse at the end of the trail
and Billy trying to get away by
climbing up a cliff.

Billy shoots at Ray and Ray (the

player) has to shoot back if he's going
to survive.

Billy falls off the cliff and screams

as he plunges down into the canyon
below.

RaY
Time to meet
your maker,
boy.

Ray climbs back on his horse and heads

for the Ranch, where he finds Manson
outside with some of his men.

Manson
Where's the
boy?

RAY
The river took
him.

MANSON
Search the
river banks! I
want that body
found!

There's gunshots from inside the house.

RAY
What's going
on in there?

MansON
Sounds to me
like somebody
had an
accident.

If Ray (the player) goes in the house,

he'll finds Ferguson wounded on the
floor and the two McClyde brothers
standing over him.

RaY
What's going
on in here?
MCCLYDE 2
We might as
well tell him.

MccLYDE 1
We're not
Ranger's,
Reverend. But
we are looking
for the boy.

RaY
So why'd you
lie to me?

McCLYDE 2
It suited our
purpose. But
now we don't
need you no
more.

Ray (the player) is has a show down

with the two McClyde brothers.

If Ray's victorious, he approaches the

wounded rancher. Ferguson is hurt so
badly he can barely talk.

RAY
What is
happening
here?

Ferguson
They took my
daughter.

RAY
They said you
were a
rustler.

FERGUSON
A rustler? I'm
a rancher.
This is my
home. Please
don't let 'em
hurt her.
They're
heading for
the river.
You're gonna
need a horse
to get there
in time. Don't
let 'em get
away...

Ferguson dies.

RAY
What have I
done, Lord?

Ray (the player) races outside and

jumps on a horse and chases after
Manson and his men.

When gets to the river,he sees them

heading downstream on a flatboat. Ty
Stewart holds tightly onto Molly as
they drift away.

RaY
Oh, God...What
did I do?
Righteous men
are dead
because of my
blindness and
arrogance. I
killed Billy
in your name
too. Was I
wrong, Lord?
Was he telling
me the truth?
Was he
innocent as
well? I'll
save you,
child. I'll
make amends,
Lord. Whatever
it takes. I
promise you...

Finally awakens and now his vision is

sharp. Inside the Teepee there are
various tools and implements.

Billy feels around and can't find his

medallion. He mumbles to himself...

BILLY
My medallion?
Where is it?

He stumbles from the teepee to find the

old Native American man sitting by a

It is good to

BILLY
But I don't
know how to
use a damn

CALM WATER
Then practice.
You can take
my horse, if
you like. Calm
Water will
wait.

BILLY
Where the

calm water you
keep talking
about?

CALM WATER
It is here. Mi

Calm Water chuckles. Billy leaves on

Calm Water's horse and has to hunt
three rabbits. At some point, after
he's missed his first few shots.

BILLY
Can't believe
he's making me
use this damn
bow. Son of a

After Billy (the player) bags three

rabbits, he returns to Calm Water to
find the Teepee on fire.

CALM WATER

Billy (the player) takes Calm Water's

Ray steals a horse and chases after

them.

It's a classic horse chase and they try

even sticks of dynamite.

The race continues through mountain

Ray (the player) has to contend with

marauding riders with rifles and gallop
beneath train tressels brought down by
exploding dynamite.

finally catch up at another ranch
house, where he'll have to battle his

voices outside an open door.

myself? I told
you what I
need!

MansON (o.S.)

enters the dungeon where Billy is being

longish black hair and a thick
mustache.

BILLY
Who are you?

juarez
Don't you see

your padre.

BILLY
W-what?

juarez
your mama ran
off with
another man.
You were still
in her womb.
My only son,
my pride and
joy. I've been
searching for
you ever
since.

BILLY
So you had my
mother killed?

Juarez
Of course not.
What kind of
man do you
think I am?
Her husband
started
shooting and
my men had to
defend
themselves.
Your poor mama
got caught in
the crossfire.

BILLY
So you're
my...my
father?

Juarez
That's right,
mijo. They
call me
Juarez,
because that
is where I am
from.

BILLY
J-Juarez?

JUAREZ
Si, that's
where we are.
In my alcazar.
Just outside
the city. Once
we get our
hands on the
gold, we will
be the most
powerful
family in
northern
Mexico. Just
give me the
medallion and
the future is
ours.

BILLY
Medallion?
Why?

JUAREZ
Don't play
games with me,
mijo. I know
your mother
gave it you.

BILLY
I don't have
it. I lost it
in the river.

JUAREZ
You're my son!
Together we
will rule all
of Juarez. But
first, you
must give me
the medallion!

BILLY
I told you. I
don't know!

Juarez strikes Billy across the mouth.

JUAREZ
I gave you
life and I can
take it away.
Tell me where
it is!

BILLY
I don't have
it...

Juarez strikes him again.

JUAREZ
Do you think
I'm stupid? Is
that what you
think!? You
tell me what I
need to know
or I will end
you right
here.

Juarez hits him again.

JuAREZ
The medallion
is the key.
The key to
where the gold
is buried. But
then your
mama, that
puta, stole it
from me...and
made off with
her lover. A
gringo. A
nobody. She
took what was
mine and for
that there is
no
forgiveness!
For 17 years
I've been
looking for
you. 17 years!

Juarez hits Billy even harder.

JUAREZ
What? It
hurts? This is
nothing. These
are love taps.
Tell me where
the medallion
is or you will
wish you were
never born.

Juarez hits him.

JUAREZ
Everything for
you...

And again.

JUAREZ
First for your
mother...

And again.

JUAREZ
Then for you.

And again.

JUAREZ
You better
speak,
chilito...

And again.

JUAREZ
TALK!
Juarez fades from view and everything
goes dark. Water in the face rouses
Billy back to consciousness.

JUAREZ
You are
stubborn. But
I don't give
up. You will
fetch me that
medallion or
else...TOM!

Manson leads Molly into the cell. Tears

streak her face. Manson forces her to
her knees.

BILLY
Molly... No...

JUAREZ
I don't care
where it
is...you just
bring it back
to me. Or I
will give her
to the men for
their
amusement. She
will suffer a
very sad end.

BILLY
No...

JUAREZ
You've got til
sundown. Don't
show up here
without the
medallion.

EXT. OUTSIDE JUAREZ'S ALCAZAR - DAY

The big doors are pulled shut and a
bandit shouts down from a parapet.

BandIT 1
Don't forget
about the
girl,
muchacho! Her
life in return
for the gold!

Billy (the player) climbs on a horse

outside the alcazar. Where is he to go?

As he passes a small cemetery, a young

boy waves to him.

If Billy goes into the cemetery and

climbs off his horse, the young boy
approaches. The kid wears torn, dirty
clothes and looks to be no older than
twelve.

Boy
Hey, senor!
Wanna do a
little
business? I'll
give you a
hundred pesos
to bury my
father. But
the funeral
has to be
primera clase!

Billy (the player) is given the choice

to walk away or help bury the boy's
father.

If he selects to bury the father, we

cut to a cinematic where Billy finishes
shoveling the last bit of dirt onto the
father's grave.

BillY
Okay...Where's
my money?

Boy
Aren't you
going to say
something?

BiLLY
What?

BoY
A few words
for my father.

BILLY
I'm not a

BOY
You want the

or not?

Billy sighs...

BILLY
Alright...Dear

BOY

him farewell.

BILLY
Right, so
where's my

BoY
I'd like to
give you the
100 peso's,
but....I don't
have 100
pesos.

BILLY
How many pesos
do you have?!

BOY
None. Did you
really think a
little boy
like me would
have a hundred
pesos? The
only thing I
have and can
give you is
this key to
the sacristía
in the
abandoned
church. You'll
probably find
something
worth
something
there. Oh, and
senor!
Remember for
the future. A
poor man will
always offer
you more than
a rich man.

Billy (the player) climbs on his horse

and rides away, follows the signs to
the old church and opens the door to
find the sanctuary in shambles.

BILLY
I can't win
for losing...

If he explores and goes out the back

door, he'll see three graves lined up
in a row.

BiLLY
3 graves? Hold
on.

If he approaches the graves.

BILLY
There's one
candle, but
three
graves...where
to light it...
how did it go?

When he looks at the first headstone.

BILLY
In the first
grave, a bad
man sleeps. He
might wake up.
Shhhh...

When he looks at the second headstone.

BILLY
In the second
one, a rich
man with a
heart of stone
slumbers. For
him the gift
will not be

When Billy approaches the third

headstone shaped like a cross, he sees
there's a pattern in the stone much
like his lost medallion. He can see
through to the other side.

BILLY
In the third
grave, a poor
man lays.
Light a candle
for him!
Because a
little warmth
means a lot to
a poor man.
He'll give you
the gold,
because the
poor are
always more

in the cross
is shaped like
my medallion.
Hmm. How did
it look? I can
almost see it
in my mind's
eye...

Billy sees a superimposed image of the

medallion over the cross. In one corner
of it, there's a huge rock which can be
seen in the distance.

BILLY
That rock over
there. It
fits. Is that
the entrance?

If Billy (the player) goes over and

tries to move the rock.

BILLY
No way. I
can't move it.
Too heavy.
Damn, how do I
do it?

Billy (the player) has to figure out

how to move the big rock.

If he climbs up a nearby ridge, he can

work his way to the other side of the
valley, overlooking the rock. By using
his whip to swing on a tree branch, he
can dislodge a huge boulder, which will
roll down the hill and knock the rock
off the entrance to the cave.

When Billy (the player) approaches the

hole.

BILLY
One candle,
three graves.
The gold of
Juarez belongs
only to the
brave.

face lit up from the light reflected
off a massive treasure.

INT. CAVE - DAY

The cave is dark and rugged and spider

webs hang from the stalactites.

Billy must make his way through the

cave, past poisonous spiders and other
obstacles.

He hears voices ahead.

BandiT 1
Have you seen
that little
puta? Nice,
huh? I'd like
to...

Bandit 2
Forget it,
Jorge. Juarez
is keeping
that chocho
for himself...

BANDIT 1
For now..but
when he gets
tired of
her... Look!
Over there?
Who the hell
is--

Gunshots ring out and the men scream.

Billy leaps over a crevasse and down

another tunnel and finds himself facing
a vast underground lake. He plunges in
and swims to the other side, climbing
out before he's swept downstream and
over a waterfall.

Climbing another trail, he makes it up

some ancient stone steps and through a
stone doorway to find himself in a
massive room.

There's path through an obstacle course

that leads to two towering doors.

Billy (the player) must jump from

square to square in the proper order or
will be swept away by a swinging blade.
He must then must jump from platform to
platform, each one collapsing seconds
after he lands on it.

After a few more dangerous tests and

traps Billy (the player) opens the
doors to an ancient vault filled with
an enormous pile of stolen Aztec gold.

BILLY
The lost
gold...

Juarez suddenly appears behind him and

shoves him to one side.

JuAREZ
I knew you'd
find your way.
Why? Why did
you lie to me?

BiLLY
I never lied
to you.

JUAREZ
You betrayed
me, just like
your mother!
And now you'll
die just like
she did, on
her knees...

Billy takes off running down a corridor

off the main vault. He unlocks a secret
staircase in a hidden chamber and
climbs it with Juarez's men on his
heels.

BaNDIT 1
He went that
way!

Bandit 2
Give me a
torch! He's
not getting
away!

As Billy runs down the ancient

corridors, he hears voices.

BANDIT 1
Hey Billy! We
won't hurt
you! We just
want to talk!

BANDIT 2
We're coming
for you,
chingado!

Billy finally reaches what appears to

be a dead end. The ceiling collapses,
and staring down at him is Reverend
Ray.

Billy is trapped. There's no way out.

No where left to run.

And then Ray reaches out to Billy and

pulls him up through the hole.

RaY
It's alright,
boy. I
misjudged you
and for that
I'm truly
sorry. The
Lord is
clearly on
your side.
Otherwise, you
wouldn't still
be alive.

BILLY
They got
Molly!

rAY
Because of
me... But I'm
gonna remedy
that right
now. You go
hide yourself.

BILLY
I wanna help--

RAY
No, this is my
business now.
I have to make
amends and
seek
forgiveness.
You get
yourself to
safety. God
has told me to
rescue this
girl and
punish those
who took her.

EPISODE THIRTEEN

The player is now Ray as he drops down

into the corridor Billy just emerged
from.

RAY
And when they
have finished
their
testimony, the
beast that
cometh up out
of the abyss
shall make war
with them, and
overcome them,
and kill them!

Ray continues forward and runs into a

few of Juarez's men. He fights his way
forward, cutting them down, until he
reaches the secret chamber that holds
the gold.

Juarez shouts down to him from a high

platform.

JuaREZ
Preacher? Who
are you?!

RAY
I'm the Lord's
right hand and
I am here to
send you to
hell!

JUAREZ
A lot of
people have
tried, padre.
But as you can
see, I'm still
standing. You
really think
you can kill
Juarez?

RAY
You're the one
who had my
brother
murdered...

JUAREZ
Your brother
stole my wife,
padre, so he
had it coming.
And now you
want to take
what's mine? I
don't think
so, cabrone. I
think it's
time for you
to die.

If Ray fights all the bandits and

wounds Juarez, the bandit leader back
off.

JuAREZ
You think
you've won?
No, preacher!
I've still got
the girl!!! If
you or that
boy doesn't
bring me the
gold, that
girl will die
a slow and
terrible
death. We will
take her and
torture her
and burn her
alive! You
hear me,
Padre! The
gold for the
girl! You got
'til noon!

An artists rendition of Ray kneeling on

a stone floor, his head bowed in prayer
and penitence, his face hidden by his
dusty hat.

RaY (v.O.)
Thomas and I
had a younger
brother.
William. He
was the was
best of us. A
man of faith.
We were
running cattle
over the
border from El
Paso and would
spend time in
a little
cantina in San
Lorenzo.
That's where I
first laid
eyes on
Marisa. I knew
she belonged
to another,
but I wanted
her for mine.
Marisa had
other ideas
though. She
was in love
with Thomas.
They ran off
together and I
tracked them
to these very
caverns.
Brother
William begged
me to walk
away, but I
was crazy with
greed. I
wanted Marisa.
I wanted the
gold. William
got between me
and Thomas and
reached into
his coat. I
thought he was
going for a
gun…so I shot
him. My little
brother. And
as he fell, I
saw what he
was reaching
for. A bible.
In that
instant, I
renounced evil
and embraced
the word of
God. We left
the gold. We
knew it was
cursed. And I
dedicated my
life to
serving the
Lord. I tried
to make
amends, but my
sins were too
great. Anger,
hate, pride,
arrogance. Oh,
Lord, I humbly
accept that
the time has
come for me to
offer
recompense for
my
transgressions
.

EXT. THE ALCAZAR OF JUAREZ - DAY

Ray rides up in a wagon, covered with a

tarp. He pulls through the gates and
stops in front of the main building.

Juarez steps out on a balcony. Armed

men are everywhere. There's at least
twenty guns aimed at Reverend Ray.

JuarEZ
You again?
Good! I see
you brought
the treasure.

RAY
I have not
brought gold,
but the wrath
of God!

Ray pulls off the tarp to reveal a

gatling gun

JUAREZ
A la madre!
Take cover!

Ray (the player) uses the gatling gun

to defeat all the men that Juarez
throws at him.

At some point, reinforcements will come

in and Ray will have to run for cover.

When Ray (the player) has defeated all

the men outside, he'll find that the
door to the main house is bolted shut.

If Ray (the player) explores, he'll

discover a cannon on the parapet and
can use that to blast open the front
doors.

Inside, Ray will find even more of

Juarez's men. Eventually, he'll fight
his way to the dungeon prison where he
has to confront Manson.

Manson
Not bad,
preacher. Not
bad. Ty and
the McClydes
were all bad
hombres. But
not as bad as
you. Juarez
told me that
that farmer we
kilt in Hope
was your
brother. You
know, once the
McClyde's were
done breaking
all his
fingers, I
shot him in
the guts and I
gotta say, he
took a long
time to die.
Let's see how
long you take…

As Ray battles Manson, the outlaw

taunts him.

manson
Your brother
squealed like
a stuck pig.
That bitch,
his wife,
didn't even
put up a
fight. Me, I
think she
wanted us. The
little girl…
She's
something, eh,
Reverend?
Yeah, soon as
I'm through
with you, I'm
gonna have me
some of
that...

If Ray (the player) can defeat Manson,

he then has to find the place where
Molly is being held.

She's in a cell, on her feet, tied to a

post. (The same post Billy was tied
to.) She starts to whimper.

RAY
Shhhh...child.
..

Suddenly, the steel ceiling parts,

revealing the sky above. Ray (the
player) realizes the cell is actually a
stone pit and that Juarez and his men
surround him from above.

Ray (the player) has to take them all

out.

Juarez
You're pretty
quick for a
man of your
age. I'm sure
a few sticks
of dynamite
won't pose a
problem for
you!

Juarez throws in a stick of lit

dynamite.

JuAREZ
CATCH!

Ray has to shoot the dynamite out of

the air, so it explodes high above
them. Juarez throws in more dynamite
and Ray has to blast it all.

JUAREZ
Here's some
more!

When all the dynamite has been disposed

of...

JuaREZ
Nice trick,
padre! Try
shooting this
down!

It's kerosene lamp and explodes into

flames when it hits the floor. Juarez
dumps more kerosene into the pit and
the fire grows higher and closer.

An artist's rendition of Billy on the

run.

Billy (V.O.)
Ray told me to
run and maybe
I should. I
could take off
with the gold
and no one
would ever
find me.
Ray'll save
the girl. He
don't need me.
Probably
better if I
never see her
again. Sure
I'll be on the
run, but this
time I'll be
rich. So why
am I still
standing here.
Maybe I'm just
tired of
running. Or
maybe it's
time for me to
stop being
afraid. Calm
Water tried to
help me and
now he's dead.
Just like my
ma. And
probably
Reverend Ray
if I just walk
away. This
time I'm
taking a
stand, 'cause
if I
don't...if I
run...fear
will dog me
wherever I go.

EXT. OUTSIDE JUAREZ'S ALCAZAR - DAY

The boy from the graveyard finds Billy

on the trail.

BoY
Senor! You
want to kill
the bandits in
the fort? Hold
on...

BILLY
Get out of
here before
you get hurt!

BOY
They killed my
father. If you
are going in
there…take
this and kill
them all…

He hands Billy a bow and a quiver of

arrows.

Billy has to make his way to the

alcazar. There's one part of the wall
that's cracked and he can use his whip
to climb up and reach the top.

Billy catches sight of the stone pit

where he was tortured by Juarez. Smoke
is pouring out and he can see flames.

BILLY
Oh no… That's
where they
held me and
Molly! If
she's still
there…

Billy (the player) spots a large

cistern on a platform not far from the
pit.

BILLY
I hope there's
water in that
cistern…

Billy (the player) has to battle

Juarez's men and figure out how to
overturn the cistern into the pit.

If he accomplishes this, he'll look

down inside to see he's saved Reverend
Ray and Molly from the flames.

MolLY
Billy!

RAY
Billy! Thank
God… The door
is barred from
the other
side!

Billy has to fight his way into the

house in order to get to the dungeon.

In the central courtyard, he finds his

father. Juarez.

Juarez
So you worked
up the
strength in
you, mijo. You
make your papa
proud.

BILLY
You had my
mother
murdered, you
lying son of a
bitch.

JUAREZ
I loved her.
She betrayed
me.

Juarez pulls out one of his revolvers.

The handle is inlaid with gold and
silver.

Juarez
I've had these
two sidearms
since before
you were born.
They are
identical. You
can stand by
my side, or
fight me. It's
up to you.

BILLY
If you give it
to me, I'll
kill you.

JUAREZ
So be it. We
each have
three bullets!
More then
enough.
He throws the gun to Billy and now its
in his hand.

Billy (the player) has a showdown with

Juarez. If he wins, Juarez will lay
dead in the dust.

Billy (the player) must make his way to

the dungeon pit, but first he must get
past the rest of Juarez's men.

When he arrives he unbars the door and

frees Molly and Reverend Ray.

RAY
Where's
Juarez!?

BILLY
He's dead.

MoLLY
Billy!

They embrace.

RAY
No time for
that now. It's
not safe here.
Follow me!

Ray leads them out of the cell and

Juarez is right there. He shoots Ray
down.

JuarEZ
Where's your
God now,
Padre?!

He turns to Billy.

JuAREZ
You've made a
mistake, mijo.
You see, I'm
wearing armor
as well.

Juarez pulls open his shirt to reveal

steel armor beneath it. Similar to
Ray's.

JUAREZ
Drop the gun.
And the bow.
Do it now.

When Billy (the player) complies.

JUAREZ
Gracias.

Juarez cocks his gun.

JUAREZ
You know,
Billy? Your
mother
serviced
Manson, Ty,
and both
McLyde's
before she
died. I told
them to treat
her like a
whore…'cause
that is what
she was. And
once I'm
through
killing you,
this little
puta will
pleasure me
too. Adios,
mijo.

He pulls the trigger, but he's out of

bullet. Juarez throws the empty gun at
Billy and attacks. Billy (the player)
now has to defeat Juarez in a fist
fight.

If he wins, we cut to Ray's point of

view, on the floor, watching as Billy
holds a frightened Molly.

From Ray's blurry POV we can see the

Juarez is slowly reaching for a knife
in his boot.

raY (V.O.)
Lord, I have
failed you.
All my life I
have committed
the sin of
pride.
Everything
that has
happened
here...is my
fault.

Juarez silently rises, raising the

blade. Billy's back is to him.

RaY (V.O.)
Lord, I have
no right to
ask you this,
but
please…please
don't allow
them to die
because of me.

Ray (the player) has just enough

strength to draw his weapon one last
time. If he can kill Juarez, before
Juarez kills Billy...

RAY
Thank you,
Lord.

The world fades from view.

RaY (V.O.)
Yea, though I
walk through
the valley of
the shadow of
death, I will
fear no evil…

EXT. AN AERIAL VIEW OF THE ALCAZAR -

DAY

The camera slowly rises and swoops up

and over the old structure.

Billy (V.O.)
Back at the
ranch, Molly
asked me why I
was running,
if I was
innocent.
Truth is, I've
been running
all my life.
Running from
everybody and
everything.

It moves out over the surrounding

desert.

BILLY (V.O.)
Calm Water
said I
couldn't run
forever and he
was right.
Truth is… I'm
tired of being
afraid. I'm
done fed up
with it. Fed
up with how
I've been
treated all my
life. Like a
nothing. Like
a nobody.

And swoops down to the cemetery where

Billy buried the little boy's father.

Billy (V.O.)
And you know
what? I got no
one to blame
for that but
myself.
'Cause… I
believed 'em.
I thought they
were right
about me.

Billy and Molly stand beside a grave.

Reverend Ray's hat rests on the crude
cross that marks where he's buried.

BILLY (V.O.)
But they
weren't right.
I'm not a
nobody. I'm
Billy Candle.
And I'm done
running...
