Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO )
 HUDCO, a Public Sector Enterprise of Government of India
under the administrative Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs,
finances the housing & infrastructure projects in the country.
HSMI is the research and training department of HUDCO, to
provide training support for professionals and a forum for
interaction of administrators, professionals, researchers and
others engaged with the issues of human settlement
development.

institution promoting sustainable habitat development for
transforming the lives of people.”
 HUDCO’s HSMI is recognized as a leading research and
training institution in the housing and urban development 
sector and is involved with capacity building both at the
regional and national level for more than 30 years. It has 
been designated as a national resource centre for giving
technical inputs in the policies and programmes. So far, HSMI 
has conducted 37 programmes for “Real Estate Management”
delivering significant insights and vital knowledge for 
achieving success in this sector.
Background:
The real estate sector, one of the most globally recognized
sectors, has grown significantly in the recent years, but 
continues to grapple with regulatory changes like Real Estate
(Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), goods and 
services tax (GST) and overall subdued demand.
The aim of this workshop is to equip the attendees with an
overview of the real estate industry, government policies and
changes this sector has undergone, with a special emphasis on
RERA and its impact.
