3. Read the following text and fill in each gap with suitable word based on the information of the text. 1x5=5
Once upon a time there lived a very rich and kind merchant in Venice. His name is Antonio. He used to help the poor,
so they loved him. He had a friend named Bassanio who used to lead grandeurs life. So, most of the time, he was in
want of money. But whenever he wanted money Antonio helped him with cash. One day Bassanio asked Antonio to
give him a handsome amount of money what he would use to marry a beautiful lady. Unfortunately, Antonio did not
have enough money that time as most of his ships were in the sea. So, finding no other way he went to a moneylender
named Shylock to borrow money. But Shylock was a shrewd man, and he had personal grudge with Antonio. So, he
took advantage over Antonio’s helplessness. He agreed to lend him money on one condition, that if Antonio would fail
to pay the debt in time, he had to give penalty of a pound of flesh from Antonio’s body. Antonio had nothing but to
agree to this condition.

Read the following text carefully and answer the questions 4 and 5.
Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, the founder of Mughal Dynasty, was born in 1483. At the early age of 11, Babur ‘s father died and
he became the king of Fargana. At the time of his accession to the throne, Babur was surrounded by enemies on all sides.
Ahmed Mirza attacked Babur in 1495 but the attack failed and died in the same year. In November 1497, Babur was able to
capture Sourate, but soon he lost both Sourate and Fargana and in February 1498, Babur was not the king of any place. He had
to live a life of a wanderer for more than one year.. In June, 1498, he was able to recapture the capital of Fargana. In 1500, Babur
conquered Samarkhand for the second time but he was forced to vacate it by the Uzbegs. In the same year he again lost
Fargana. The result was that in 1502, Babur decided to try his luck somewhere else. Babur set out for Kabul where there was
political chaos. He was able to manage the situation to his own advantage and occupied Kabul in 1504. As the King of Kabul, he
ruled twenty-two years when he went into his major offensive against India. He died in 1530.
