PUBLIC ORDER NO. 2 OF 2020 THE PUBLIC ORDER ACT (Cap. 56) THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACT (Cap. 242) PUBLIC ORDER NO. 2 OF 2020 ON THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT ORDER WHEREAS, the Coronavirus disease continues to manifest intensely within our Borders. WHEREAS, the Cabinet Secretary for Health vide Gazette Notice No. 2787 of 2020 declared Coronavirus disease a Notifiable Disease. WHEREAS, the Ministry of Health had pursuant to Section 36 of the Public Health Act additionally declared the coronaviruses disease a Formidable Epidemic Disease vide Legal Notice 37 of 2020. WHEREAS, the Eastleigh Area within Nairobi Metropolitan Area and the Old Town Area, Mombasa County within the Kenyan Coastal strip have recorded a surge in the number of positive coronavirus cases. Page 1 of 4NOW THEREFORE, Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 1 of 2018 and IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the Public Order Act, and in recognition of the threat posed to national security and public order by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government makes the following Order— L tl. Restriction of Movement There shall be no movement by any person into or out of the areas designated as Zone A and Zone B as specified in paragraph II during the period set out in paragraph III except as shall be permitted, in writing, by a County Police Commander. Scope of the Order ILI Zone A: Eastleigh Area, Nairobi County within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area as described in Schedule I; ILII Zone B: Old Town, Mombasa County within the Kenyan Coastal Strip as described in Schedule II III. Restriction period Iv. The Order shall come into force at 7:00 P.M on 6" May 2020 and shall remain in force for a period fifteen (15) days. Exemptions This Order shall not apply to the services, personnel or workers specified in the Schedule III hereto.
